Americana Inn, Flagstaff

the place is dirty, long black hairs on bedding, shower etc. torn or missing window covers so anyone can look in. i checked several rooms before choosing the best of the lot. really really noisy. apartment house across parking lot has scummy people partying until early morning, dogs, dogs, and more dogs barking. loads of cigarette smoke moves thru the non heating/cooling system, so all "non-smoking" room stinks. the owner of the place is the manager and he doesnt care about upkeep. i needed a cheap place to crash after a long day of driving. this place is not cheap. should have continued driving and stayed elsewhere.

I notice that some of the reviews are for the roadway inn (which is next door).

This place is maybe worth about half the $45.00 price they charged us. Rooms have ample evidence of extremely poor maintenance, or outright deferred maintenance. Staff, all the way up to the manager, could basically care less whether you are a happy customer or not. I highly recommend you stay anywhere in town but here. Motel 6 on Butler, for example, charges the same price, and unlike Americana Inn, they actually take care of their facility and try to make sure you are comfortable. I counted six problems with Americana's room, and zero with Motel 6's. I only wish I had thought to look at some of these reviews before purchasing a room at Americana Inn.

Torn curtain, tv didn't work, mattress was old and sheets stained and smelled of smoke, blanket torn. Carpet filthy, toilet didn't flush, towels frayed. Ice and snow was never shoveled, blocking stairs and I slipped. Half of light bulbs burnt out, Room smelled of urine and moldy smell was so strong--made my eyes water after 15 minutes in room. I couldn't stay there and management refused refund. This hotel should be condemned, seriously. The management should be ashamed.

I would not go again wouldn't tell any body to go there the walls are thin can hear people talking next door slaming doors.I would go back even if they were to give me a free stay.

WARNING!!! This hotel was HORRIBLE! Uncomfortable bed, dirty-stained blankets, thin walls, and smelly room. We reserved a non-smoking room and as soon as we walked in, it smelled like smoke! Speaking of thin walls, I woke up at 6 a.m. because I can hear people talking (not shouting) at the room next to us. On top of that, the train is next to the hotel and you can hear it come by every 3 hours. Room service is TERRIBLE! Our check out was 11 a.m. and they came knocking at our door at 9 a.m. Then, we got a phone call 30 minutes later asking what time we are leaving…what the F***! Not only that, customer service was poor. I originally reserved 2 rooms and when I got there, they only had 1 room reserved, so we had to hunt for another hotel for our friend. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL – you must stay away!!!!

I would never recommend the Rodeway Inn in Flagstaff to friends or family. I wouldn’t even recommend this dive to my worst enemy. My handicapped father was traveling across the country and I called the hotel to set up a reservation for him. The man on the phone quoted me a price of $44.99 and took my reservation. When my father arrived, the man behind the counter (Brian) told my Dad that he "had just sold the last $44.99 room five minutes ago". He was charged $65.00 for the room. I had made the reservation literally 15 minutes before my father arrived, so this was obviously a bait and switch tactic. My father commented that the room was dirty, sheets were stained, and the lock to his room wasn't properly functioning. Do not stay at this terrible roach motel.
