The Circle R Motel, Salida

I made reservations far in advance so I would have a place to stay in Salida, so there was no excuse for the room to not be ready, but the room I was assigned had the heater dismantled, a small space heater lying on the bed (with snow falling outside) and lots of tools lying around, but the owner acted mad when I didn't want to stay in there. The next room they sent me to had black, slimy mold growing in and around the tub and on the on the shower curtain, with layers of dirty soap scum on the tub. They told me there would be a fridge and a microwave in the room--not. They charge an extra $5/day for a dog, but my dog has never been as dirty as their motel room. They charged the same rate as a couple of other motels in town that are clean and well-cared for. This is NOT a place I would ever stay again and certainly would NOT recommend it to anybody. It gives Salida a bad name.
