6 reviews for Ouray Chalet Inn, Ouray
a great central camp for 4 wheeling
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/09/07
the inn has been our main stay for the last 15 years when we come 4 wheelin to southwest colorado. we love to go over 13000 ft imogene pass and 12800 engineer pass. its right in the middle of all the action and the people there are so friendly. the resturants are reasonalbe and have good food. the hot springs pool is also great for sore muscles after a hard climb or after bouncing around all day on a jeep. telluride, silverton, lake city are all just accross the pass for day trips. old mines dot the area and the trails are rugged, but passable; beautiful views everywhere and lots of wildflowers for the camera buffs. the weather in september is sunny, but cool with an occasional cold night and sometimes a a lite frost or dribble of snow early in the morning. I'm leaving wednesday; see you there. rgreen, texas

Nice motel at a good price
By Glenn, 08/05/07
Did some searching on motels in Ouray and based on the reviews and the room rate I got through AAA, I decided that the Ouray Chalet Inn would be my best bet. I am glad I did. Although the motel is a little dated, it fits with the feel of the town. The room was clean with a refrigerator and complimentary coffee. The view from the room was nothing to brag about but the price made up for that. It is located right in the middle of town. Compared to the rates for other motels/hotels in Ouray, this was a bargain.

Greatest Place To Stay In Ouray, Colorado
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/26/06
We really enjoyed our stay with Ouray Chalet Inn in Ouray, Colorado. The hosts, Lora and Steve, were friendly and very informative about the area. They gave us rooms with great views of the mountains (I have to say that they were absolutely awesome) and the beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. The location of Ouray Chalet Inn was smack-dab in the middle of town on the main street where shopping and eating was really close. Lora and Steve also helped us find great places to explore and experience the San Juan Mountains. Their place is inexpensive, lovely furnished (even a fridge), clean and very comfortable. Will we go back again! Absolutely! It's the best most affordable place in all of Ouray! We're making this our yearly place to vacation and it's all because of Ouray Chalet Inn, their owners Lora and Steve.

Wonderful place to stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/10/05
We've been to Ouray for 6 straight years and tried 6 different motels. This was by far the BEST motel in town. Very conveniently located, sparkling clean, friendly owners, bright cheerful rooms. Questions about where to go - just ask at the office. Wireless Internet service (and if you have problems connecting they are there to help). Some of the other motels in town have been there for years and they just haven't updated the rooms, so they are rather dark and dingy. Chalet Inn is just the opposite. Very bright, cheerful rooms with nice bathroom/dressing area. We had a refrigerator (I think all the rooms do) which makes it convenient to keep food for lunches fresh. The supermarket in town definetly does NOT cater to tourists and doesn't open early enough or stay open late enough. If you want to take food with you on the trails, you really need to plan ahead so fridge helps. I highly recommend this place!!!
