The Motel 6 should be shut down! We stayed in room 114. The room was dirty, the toilet had not been cleaned under the seat, the carpet had dirt and food stains throughout and the blankets were old and stained had been washed so many times, they were thread bare and balled up! I barley slept, worried of what I might be laying in.The only thing clean may have been the sheets! We asked for a non-smoking room. The walls had been painted over but the stench of smoke was in the draperies and carpet. There was an ashtray turned upside down with 'no-smoking emblem glued to the bottom on the night stand! If it was not midnight when we arrived, and we had been on the road for 12 hrs. We would have went right back to get our money back. Which brings another issue, the night clerk was creepy and the most he could say for the place, which he repeated several times was" There is free coffee and free ice." Do not stay at this motel, I NEVER Will again, or any other Motel 6!.
Let`s start with the picture you see at this site. That is not Motel 6 Sioux Falls.
Aside from a couple of staff members (Tina, in particular), there is nothing to recommend. The structure is falling apart, literally. Water leaks, age, neglect, and the freeze/thaw effect on exterior doors and walls have made this place unsafe. Frankly, I don`t know how the building is still standing. It is obvious that the only reason that Accor Hotels keeps it running is that it is a "cash cow". You should see their new design in other cities.
The furniture is old. The linens are, usually, only replaced if they become so worn as to be, completely useless.
You, will, usually find a lot of kids' softball, soccer, and basketball teams and parents staying there. Probably because management does nothing to curb their loud, obnoxious, and drunken revelry in the wee hours of the morning.
If you are just too cheap to spend the extra 5-15 dollars to stay at any number of the better hotels in town, remember to ask for a first floor room. the 2nd floor walkways and railings are a serious injury and lawsuit waiting to happen.
But, hey! Don`t take my word for it. It`s ok to assume that I`m just some disgruntled ex-employee or some customer who had a once-in-a-lifetime bad experience (in actuality, I once stayed there for several weeks while I was un employed because it was cheap and I was on friendly terms with the staff) Go there take a walk around before you check in. Ask to see the room you will be renting before you pay for it. Look at the upstairs railings and walkways. Look at the light fixture in the shower. Look at the carpet.
This place should have been demolished and rebuilt at least 10 years ago. Don`t be cheap. Stay at the GuestHouse next door or Sleep Inn just down the street.
This place is ideal if you are JUST PLAIN CHEAP AND STINGY.
We needed a motel for 1 night and we were so impressed with the cleanliness and the service that we rebooked for our return trip. If you want a nice room with a very clean bathroom and a shower with nice water pressure and which is also easy on your wallet I highly recommend this motel. Will definately use this chain again in our travels...
We stayed at this hotel on our way out west and wanted something cheap since we would be here less than 12 hours. The rates were very cheap and the location wasn't too bad. The room was extremly small and would make it hard for a longer stay since we had 3 kids with us. The outdoor pool was very warm! Overall it is a great hotel for short stays.
This is a great place to stay if you want something cheap. It is clean and has pretty good service. I would recommend this for all who just need a place to sleep. We stayed there 2x in a month for 2 short trips we had to take.
