Allyndale Motel, Duluth

I have stayed at the Allyndale with family members and friends of mine many times. We have never been disappointed! The owners are wonderful and very helpful with providing information about the area. The housekeeping staff does a fantastic job. Every room I've stayed in has been extremly clean and the bedding is always fresh and comortable. I love the rooms here because each room is different. Every room is decorated differently and I like the sheets (patterned sheets rather than plain white). The motel is an older place but the rooms are updated regularly. This place is great if you don't mind being a little ways from downtown and if you don't need a pool. It is surrounded by lots of trees and there is a pretty creek in the woods. A beautiful and large back yard with picnic area and BBQ grills available in the summer. It almost feels like you're in the country but it's just set back from the main road a bit making it very queit. 1 mile from Grand Ave in West Duluth. There are many good places to eat nearby and the staff are helpful with directions. About 7 minutes from downtown Duluth/Canal Park area. Such a great place! Feels like home!

You must be either kin to or the same person as Lisa and Horrible Management. Horrible Management was rude to the other residences and excercised animal neglect and allowed her dog to pee on the carpet. Lisa was blind and was probably rude to the management. You must be the joker playing negative jokes by saying rude things about the motel. Management is like family away from family. The rooms are kept clean and the service is awesome. If you have a concern, they will take care of it immediately. Open your eyes and be grateful. The rooms are great, it is right off the freeway, and the scenery can't be beat.

This has become our favorite place to meet, up north, since it's a great value; the meadow and river behind the building gives one the impression of being in the wilderness, but a few yards from the other door lie the city lights of the Duluth harbour and Lake Superior. You can't beat it for a peaceful stay in Duluth. The kitchens come equipped with everything to cook a meal. It is great place for the price, and it is not in the heart of town and easy to get to when you've had a long drive. I would recommend it highly! Great friendly people make it a relaxing place to stay.

I had a bad experience with room cleanliness. My room was not clean, i was moved to a smaller room and was not given any compensation for the change. I also was very upset with the service. The management was very rude and did not seem to think a dirty room was at all a problem. The hotel was also very noisy and the walls were very thin. I could pretty much hear everything going on in the rooms next to me. Small tv as well, very old school. Dont recommend for sleeping.

During our one night stay we had an issue arise with the management staff in which they entered our room and removed our personal property form the room. The following day we did receive our property back and tried to inform the management that we were a little distraught with the way things were handled. The owner had no problem of getting very irate, yelling to my face about how horrible of a guest I had been, in front of many other guests eating breakfast. I found this personally offensive and entirely out of line for someone in his position. In addition, the room had a very bad pet oder in the carpets and the bed mattresses needed to be replaced.

This place is not for everyone, but just right for us. It was extremely clean, affordable, and quiet. I don't like hauling my luggage and such through a lobby and down a hall and up an elevator and down another hall. Drive up and go in! The bath was small, but spic'n'span, and the water nice and hot. Good cable, fridge, micro. the grounds were lovely. Would stay here again for sure. The towels were high quality and the pillows just right. It's not the Taj Mahal, but a nice place to land after a long drive.

We just stayed in July 09. Rooms very clean and location just off Cody Road insures no traffic noise. The rooms were as clean as any hotel/motel I have ever stayed in. We all found the Queen size beeds very comfortable and got a good nights rest.. Plenty of room to drop my boat trailer and drive just minutes down tio the lakefront area for shopping and sightseeing. The continettla breakfast was excellent, with 2 kinds of cereal, bisquits an gravy was excellent. Toast juices and coffee. Yogurt and more can be carried back to your room on a provided tray or you can enjoy the outdoor picnic tables.

I booked thru internet service that said this was a '3 star' hotel...which should carry specific amenities. There are no amenities here. I was stuffed into a puny room with a double bed (2 people traveling). Could not connect to internet. Booked a different hotel (vs. this dumpy MOTEL) in Duluth. Won't go back. I DO NOT recommend for biz travel.

The location gave us access to to all of Duluth which was important. Required wireless internet which was recently updated and flawless for work. The rooms are very clean with fridge and cable television which is great for kids! The staff was very friendly and accomindating with directions and support materials for all the activities in Duluth. Wondering deer and walking area & trail behind motel for hiking. We enjoyed the hiking. We will be happy to return to a very nice motel experience. The Love Family
