Thayer's Historic Bed n'Breakfast, Annandale

The food is fabulous! I love the atmosphere that the hotel has & the staff goes way out of their way to make a stay over-the-top. I loved the food, obviously. We had a fantastic time at the mystery dinner & that alone would be worth the trip. The antiques that are used throughout the hotel are breathtaking. And what was really nice is that it had the feel of the old, but all the luxuries of a modern hotel. A great place to get away!

As you approach, a sense of coming home crowds out the anxieties of the day. Upon entering, the door closes behind you, your body and mind seem to know they are safe and welcome. The rooms and their bathrooms are luxuriouly appointed and remind you why you decided to take some time for yourself. The place, it's staff and the energy are nothing less than magical! Sharon, the owner, is an outstanding hostess who allows you to be guest--so many places these days you have to fend for yourself--not here! I would highly recommend this unique sanctuary for anyone looking to reconnect with themselves!

Thayer's is one of my favorite hotels anywhere, from the Victorian ambiance and furnishings to the friendliness and professionalism of the owner and the staff. I highly recommend it!

We asked for, and paid extra for, a room with a fireplace. What we got was a room with a fake fireplace containing a can of Sterno!
