Read this review! Do not stay here!
By evamendesman, 10/17/09
First, I'd like to mention that I'm not some high-class individual that would expect the best when renting a hotel room 60-100 bucks a night. This room was rented through Priceline at $260 for two nights stay. Upon arriving, we walked into a musty, cigarette smelling, tiny hotel room with matted old carpet located in the attic of the hotel. It was completely outdated, with dirty walls, and looked nothing like the virtual room advertised on the Econolodge site. We immediately informed management that we were completely dissatisfied and requested a refund. I was instructed to contact and explain my concerns to Priceline. After a long process of calling Priceline long-distance and being disconnected, I finally managed to talk to an actual person in customer relations. This individual contacted the Hotel and then informed that I would only be refunded for Saturday night. They said that it would be too late to rent the room out as they had noone to clean it. I explained to the manager that we hadn't used anything and that the hotel needed cleaned before we were even there. I explained to the Hotel manager that there were other rooms available here which dis-credited any argument why I would not be refunded both nights. We decided to take a loss and contacted Rocky Water Motor Inn where we had a wonderful room our last visit in the Smokies. We were given a large room complete with real high-speed internet, 2 queen beds, modern decor, clean carpets, microwave, refrigerator, and I was able to walk around bare-footed. Every room of Rocky Water Motor Inn comes complete with balcony with a wonderful view of a river. No Comparison! In addition, the manager at Rocky Water Motor Inn gave us a frequent visit discount to off-set the hard-earned money that Priceline and Econolodge had stolen from us. Pay attention! Trust me! Do not book through Priceline and do not rent a room with this Econolodge. They may shove you in the same attic.

Really Bad Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/08
Not reputible. Should have been my first clue when we called to confirm our reservation that had been made over a month before and they tried to quote us a higher rate than what we had when we made the booking. Hotel old and very run down. Offered continental breakfast but had to go to another hotel to get it. Room had a huge gap under the front door that we had to block off with a rolled up towel so nothing could crawl in. Air conditioner was dirty, smelled musty, and blower fan would not shut off. They tried to charge us, after we left, for having pets in the room and for flea removal when we didn't have any pets there in the first place. Taking further action to get this resolved as we have documentation that pets were being cared for in our home state. Recommendation: Do not stay here.

Beware - Added charge- don't use credit card
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/08
After we left we had a charge on our credit card for $250 for having pets. They do have a notice that if a pet is seen, they will charge that amount. We have contacted upper management and the BBB as we have documentation that all pets were being kept in our home state! Air conditioner was coming off the wall (you could see daylight around it) and had mold or something on it. Air fan would never turn off so you either froze or got too warm. Hair on ice bucket and in bathroom. Big gap under the door. Just felt scuzzy overall. My friend thought he was reserving the one we had checked out on-line which is on Reagan...

Avoid this hotel!
By BRIAN I, 06/29/08
I paid 69.50 for a 6 night stay at this hotel. Seemed like a very fair nightly rate. Upon coming home, I was sent a letter stating they billed an additional $250.00 to my credit card, because they found pet hair & fleas. This is ludicrous!!! There absolutely was no pet in this room, nor were there any fleas. (At least not contributed from me!) I am working to resolve this now, and will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Tennessee. Do yourselves a favor, and find another hotel! These folks are hungry for money, and the rooms are crap! I guess you get what you pay for!

Stay here!!!
By Crystal, 04/16/08
We got the suite with the hot tub in the room & man did that pay off because after walking around all day we really needed it to relax!! it was only $40 more for that compared to other cheap hotel rooms with nothing in them but the tv & bed. We also got a huge fire place (didnt use it though) Our room was tucked away behind all the regular rooms, nice not to be wall to wall with other people that can hear your every word...The ladies at the front & the maids were all super nice! I had walked up front because the batteries had died in the remote & I could of waited but they said they would bring it to me & one of the maids brought a whole new remote 2 mins later. Excellent place to stay for a great price. Good location to everything. Will stay here everytime we go back!!

By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/19/06
1st night, office calls routed to our room, calls all hours of night, no sleep.. Assured next day we would not be disturbed, 2nd night hotel clerk enters our room without knocking after midnight.. What she was going to do we dont know.. Would not recommend staying here to anyone.. Promised we would receive money back and still haven't gotten it.. All we get is the runaround.. Mgr. wont return or answer calls reqarding complaint..
