DIRTY ROOMS
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/09
In the past 2 weeks I have been in Louisville, and stayed at the Red Roof on 2 different occassions.. The first night i stayed, the carpet was filthy around the edges, you could visibly see clusters of dirt and dust packed around the edges. Ok, I dealt with that, and chalked that up to a faulty sweeper. I went to shower, and there was hair in the bath tub! To me that is disgusting! When I was preparing to go to bed, I pulled the sheets back and the pillows had makeup marks on them.. Make up washes out, this was fresh, and it was on 3 pillows. The sheets had brown stains on them, so I can only imagine what these were from. I called the front desk, asked them to change my rooms and they couldnt, but came to my room to inspect the problems, and they offered me 10 dollars off.. Usually, shouldnt the hotel give you the room at no charge when it is this disgusting and they claim to be very clean? I checked my bill online, and the rate at 49 a night was now 61, and I have not seen any reimbursment towards my room. I will not go back, and if I had to, I would sleep in my car before I stayed there.

Poor, Poor, Poor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/17/08
My unforunate experience was with the Louisville Expo Airport Red Roof Inn. The area is poor. It shares a parking lot with a Waffle House which is open 24/7-lots of traffic and noise. The room itself was nice however upon return in 90 degree heat with high humidity there was no water! Appararently there was a problem with the water heater. when I called the desk, they could not have cared less and had no idea if water service would be restored even that day. I realize things happen but there was not even an apology. The customer service was very poor.

Nice Value, Friendly People!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/17/06
I can't say enough good things about this place! I booked for the AAA rate, and as soon as they saw me in my uniform, they gave me the lower Military rate. They have a number of choices for 24 hour lobby coffee, the room was immaculate, and even one of the beds was already turned down. Also, the "key" was key shaped and not a card, making it easier to find. Also, the location was excellent. Off of the I-65, it was very easy to locate. There was a Bob Evan's across the street, a Waffle house in the parking lot, a Popeye's chicken a mere three blocks away, and numerous other restaurants and businesses easily within distance. Overall, I couldn't have had a better experience! If you are a weary traveler, you should avoid all other places and go directly here!

We stayed in a ground floor, King room in mid March 2004. Room was very small but clean. If you just want a room to sleep in and you don't care about amenities, this might be the motel for you. EASY access (no interstate) to the fairgrounds/Six Flags which is very close but we paid a high price for that convenience ($80+/night). Bob Evans restaurant close by.
