11 reviews for Doubletree Holland, Holland
will never stay there
By andreav, 03/20/08
The think that i dis-liked was that I had booked a room for my daughters b-day. I did 3 weeks in advance. I asked them if it was ok to have a b-day party there explained it was for a 6 yr. old and that family and friends were going to invited and that at night it would be a few girls that were going to stay . They were all for it no problem anyone can use the pool and I was able to have the party. So I booked the party. was very happy intil last Thursday(3-13)went in to pay for the room and the manager (dave) told me that i could not do the birthday party there only if we were renting more rooms than one. I explained that when i came to look at the rooms and pool & etc, that i explained to the attended that I was having a b-day party, she (Felica)said no problem. I explained to Dave that I sent out the invations and I didn't know what i was going to do. His remark was that i should go to the swimming pool or Aquintic Center because that was more for that kind of party. So i explained again that i asked 3 weeks in advance and they quoted me at no problem everthing will be fine. So now I had to find another motel plus had to make out flyers that said we change the place. Thanks To Holiday inn Express. They were very friendly and helpful other than Doubletree. I tried calling corparate and left messaged no answer. So I will not return there again & I will let people know that they wouldn't even help with this sitution.

What a SUPRISE!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/26/07
I am a corporate travel woman who visits Holland often and normally stays at the Hampton Inn. I took a chance and stayed at the new Doubletree Hotel. What a beautiful contemporary hotel. It was like having a piece of Chicago in Holland. The room was beautiful and the bed was wonderful. I also ate dinner in their restaurant and the food was amazing. I have now found my home away from home at this hotel and would recommend it to everyone!

Superlative Hotel!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/13/07
I have been a frequent guest of the old Holiday Inn and I by chance made a reservation there July 1 2007 and I was AMAZED. Their was a complete overhaul of the entire hotel I couldn't even recognize it. It is now a Hilton Doubletree, and it truly stands up to the Hilton name. The room was immaculate, with all the amenities that you could want. The front desk staff was friendly as well as the two stars of the hotel Ryan and Christina in the revamped restaurant, The West Coast Grille. They were extremely accommodating and had a contagiously upbeat attitude. I could tell they truly loved the atmosphere they worked in and were proud to sell the fantastic food the kitchen produced. The first night I went to dinner I was lucky enough to order the special that the masterful chef Brad created on a whim. Both Ryan and Christina raved about Brads cooking, and let me tell you they were 150% correct, it was superlative! I wish all hotels had the service and style that this one possesses. I highly recommend you stay at this hotel for business or pleasure, because you will love every minute of it.

TOTAL RENOVATION
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/24/07
WOW - The Holiday Inn in Holland Michigan is under complete renovation!!! They have closed their doors and will re-open as a Doubletree by Hilton. My understanding is they are doing a multi million dollar renovation - even changing the name of the restaurant and bar!!! I can't wait for it to be completed! I look forward to staying there and seeing all the exciting changes they have made!!!

Grand Hotel
By ygwill23, 03/12/07
I was impressed after reading the reviews of this hotel. The food was great. The room was clean and smelled great. I have not stayed at many Holiday Inns in the past but I am going to be looking for more hotels like this one.

Looking forward to new hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/10/07
After really not being satisfied with my stay at this hotel, I spoke with the General Manager. She was very apologetic and was very kind and understanding. This lady definately knows how to talk with an unhappy customer. I have stayed at this hotel a few years past and it was much better back then. It was exciting to hear from the manager that this hotel was beginning a 4 million dollar renovation. The staff was absolutely great and the food was fantastic in the restaurant. I enjoyed Amanda in the restaurant and David at the front desk. I will try this hotel in July as I will be back for a week. Our company has used this hotel for many years, but was uncomfortable staying here for the last year or so due to the poor condition. The Hayworth Conference center is a great place for meetings and hotel stays. We loved it there. We will try the Holiday Inn again. I would recommend chosing another hotel until after the renovation.

Sleep in Your Car!
By Penelope, 08/15/06
This place is horrible. When we walked into the hotel, it looked like a roach motel. The carpets were dirty, the hallways were dirty, the housekeeping was still doing rooms at 5:00 pm. We noticed old food on the floor that six maids did not notice. Upon the first five minutes within the room the furniture was torn. In addition to this, the bathrooms were so small they are NOT accomodating for those with special needs. It reminded me of the "old" Holiday Inns from the mid 70's, where a guest needed to shower really well after sleeping there. Please do not waste your money here. As soon as we could, we left the hotel for another hotel. FYI: They still charged us for one night stay. Beware!

slightly disappointed
By , 06/26/06
The Hotel sign on tne back of the lot is very hard to see and we past it several times. The Vending Machine And Ice Machine on the 2nd floor have problems. The Vending machine row A is Marked wit B so the wrong things come out. THe rooms were clean and neat. The convention doors were never locked

Only Place to Stay in Holland
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/26/06
My business booked me at this hotel and I was nervous from reading past reviews. I quickly learned that a new GM is running things properly. The rooms were clean, the staff was very friendly, and the food was great. I have now listed this hotel as the only one I will stay at in Holland.

Horrible!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/25/06
I contracted bed bugs!!! Do not go here! Do not believe these pictures. They are false. This is a very old hotel that is unclean, dirty and unkempt. Our hockey team recently attended a tournament, and it was smoky, toilets overflowed, poor service, people contracted a rash, and no lights in the parking lot. An old, broken down hotel.
