Regency Inn South Holland, South Holland

It's hard for me to say what I liked about this motel. It is cheap but this isn't an instance of getting atleast what you paid for. I attend quarterly and yearly conventions in that area so I've stayed at several hotels in area. I've stayed here before when it was still a Motel 6 and I think it was better then. Service: The staff at the front desk were generally rude except for one lady who was better but still not ok. We registered for two rooms and they said we only had one. Instead of trying to fix the problem they wanted to argue about how they were right. It seemed as if I was doing the customer service by refocusing the conversation to get a 2nd room. The cleaning staff looked unprofessional (no uniforms or anything that said the hotels name) anyone off the street could request to clean your room and you wouldn't know the difference. Cleanliness: I saw two roaches in the room. The shower/tub was dirty to the point that it seemed like it never got a good cleaning. The room had a deep old smoke smell even though it was supposedly a smoke free room. They're currently changing their furniture so they had old furnishings lined up along the walls. Location: A positive is that it is right off of 294. A problem is there seems to be "prostitution" rings working at the motel. I do not believe that the workers or management has anything to do with this but you should keep this in mind when you consider staying here. I was awakened by several women fighting in the parking lot around 8:00am. They have video cameras but that doesn't seem to change the loitering that goes on around the hotel. Value: If you're stranded and can't afford to stay anywhere else then I guess this would be the best you could do. There are better hotels around there that are safer, cleaner, and are right off of that 294 exit you'll just have to pay more.
