A quiet retreat

My husband and I went for our honeymoon for the first weekend of the fall pilgrimage. We arrived close to midnight and had a little trouble finding the place, but the hotel was very accomodating by leaving the key for us in the mailbox. We stayed in a suite away from the main house which was gigantic with a big screened-in porch. The decor was a little dated. Our key didn't always work, and the refrigerator made a loud racket the whole time we were there. We didn't get to take our complimentary tour of the house, either. Although the sign advertised Monday tours, we were told they didn't do tours on Sunday or Monday.
The breakfast in the Dining Pavilion is outstanding; the service by Henry, "A Southern Living Souvenir," was fabulous. The grounds were beautiful and vast; it must really be lovely in the spring.
We would definitely go back!
