Holiday Inn Express

How on earth did this place EVER become a Holiday Inn Express in the condition it is in. The only thing remotely appealing was the lobby. I originally checked into room 120 which was supposed to be a non-smoking room---not only was there smoke present but there was an awful mold smell that I could not stand. I went back to the front desk around 12:30am or so to see the nice portly young gentleman working the desk that checked us in. He promptly moved us to room 231 on the other side of the same building. In this room the smell was not so bad, however, I pulled the covers back to lay down and get some sleep and what did I find but a large patch of blood on the quilt. I immediately gathered my things and went back down to the desk. The sweet young man moved us to the newer back building into a King Room which was the only room he room he had available there. I tried getting some extra bedding and towels since I was now a bed short because of moving. Unfortunately the gentleman at the desk looked seeming everywhere and could only come up with a couple sets of sheets and a pillow. There were no extra towels or blankets of any kind available at all. The only thing that kept me there as long as I did was the young man at the desk. He was kind and professional and helped me with everything within his power. The rest of the staff was helpful too, I sure hope to see them all again in my future trips to the beach. just not in that hotel as I wont be staying there again, especially at 129.95 a night plus tax....not a chance. I definately would not stay here again, this place overall is a real dump and should have the Holiday Inn Logo stripped from the sign.
