Bed Bugs!!!
By Heather, 2/27/12
Arrived Saturday from Boston, MA at 2:15 pm. I asked to check-in and was told that check-in was at 3 pm and if I wished to check in early I would be charged $15. Considering my family of four drove the 18 hours to get there for a family function I paid the additional $15. At first I thought the place was just old but after staying 3 nights I discovered that they had bed bugs. I have had no previous experience with bed bugs but after discovering very itchy bites on my skin after waking up I did some research and confirmed that they were bed bug bites. I proceeded to clean out our suitcases in order to wipe them down with alcohol as instructed by a website, I found dead bed bugs. When I called to complain to the front desk I was told I would get a full refund however that did not happen. I receieved less than half and when I called back to complain was told I could only get half of my money back. The manager I spoke with was very rude. So basically I paid money to get bitten and infested with bed bugs!

warning stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/28/06
our room smelled very bad, the light above the sink wouldn't come on for over 5 mins. light blubs missing, no remote that worked for the tv, told front desk, they couldn't find anything to make the room smell better, no other rooms were open. it was graduation week for parris island marines. all hotels were booked, no rooms anywhere to stay at. check out and reported room to front desk clerk, she said there was nothing she could do for us. i asked why is there a sign that says "if you are not 100% sat. with you room and they can't fix the problem you do not have to pay for your room" she acted like she knew nothing about that and gave me an 800 number to choice hotels. called them they said the manager at the hotel would have to take care of it. went back to hotel after the grad. and spoke to the manager a little india man and he said he would not refund my money because the room smelled like "axe" spray for men. it would considering the front desk lady went and sprayed it before he went in there. one of his employees got very smart mouth with me i told her she better back off. the manager said nothing to her about smarting off to me. i asked if they every heard of customer service. he then yelled at me "WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO!" i said i want you to honor your policy. he said he can't do that. I said flase advertisment. he did give me 50% off the 1st night. i will be filing a stop payment with my cc company. they charge us almost $100. a night for a dump. the police were there each morning once for a car being stolen out of the parking lot, and the other for fight across the way at econ lodge. very bad area. please take my advise and stay somewhere else. if i were choice hotels i would take my name off the sign. oh, yes the blanket on the bed was so matted up. i wouldn't put that out for someone i hated. and they put it out for guest. very sad. i hope i marked the right dots for experince they all should be awful.

Won't go back!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/10/05
We checked in to the hotel and were told that the indoor pool would not open until 5:00 p.m. We went to our room and could not get the door open, the keys would not work. We went back to the front desk, waited until others checked in and got new keys issued. That night, we could not get the door to shut or lock correctly. We were again told, that due to someone swimming with their clothes on, the pool/hot tub would not open until 5:00 p.m. We went shopping and upon returning, we once again could not get into our room. Not the key this time, went to the front desk and the lady told us to go to our room and someone would be down to fix the lock!! DUH!!!! It was only in the 90's and we traveled on our motorcycle. After about 15 min the maintance man arrived and unlocked the door for us. We were told that an older gentleman had recently drove into the building (door) which damaged the door and the door frame! This was an on going venture for 3 days. We also stepped in chewing gum, which was all over our room, etc. On the last day, after attending our son's graduation from Boot-camp, we returned to our room at 10:45 to check out by 11:00 AND WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR ROOM!!! Imagine that, we had asked for a noon check-out but were ready to check-out by the required 11:00, and WE WERE LOCKED OUT OF OUR ROOM!!!
