Beach View, Rehoboth Beach

I have stayed at this motel for the past 6 years. The experience has always been excellent, with quality service. Yes the structure is old, but everything else is high quality and the old structure is not a draw back. It's a little quaint from the outside The furniture, the linens, and the bedding are all clean. It is convenient to the boardwalk, the beach, shopping, and restaurants. The staff are always courteous, helpful, and polite. The Beach View is one of the more reasonably priced motels close to the boardwalk. From discussions with other guests, a good majority come back year after year and several were making arrangements for next year.

My husband and I had stayed at the Beach View about eight times over the past year and every time they have given us horrible service when checking in, the horrible experiences can all be attributed to one member of staff, who is a woman with short brown hair in about her fifties. She has always been so completely rude, degrading, and directly insulting to my husband and I. From the first time we walked in she presented herself and the Beach View in what we felt was a disturbingly inappropriate and inhospitable manner. More than once has she refused to honor our reservation and had claimed not to “find” us in the hotel’s system. She would then make a huge seen of shoving our IDs and information to the side while insulting us very loudly, then walking away from the desk or calling over the next set of guests who she would address in a completely different manner, it would even surprise the other guests! Luckily there was always another front desk server nearby who would, amazingly enough, find our reservation without any problems, acknowledge that we had stayed with them before and be pleasant to us like one would expect from any of Rehoboth Beach’s other accommodations. We kept going back because the rooms where surprisingly likable and well maintained, the front desk staff when we checked out was always pleasant and as long as we didn’t go back into the lobby at any other time during our stay we would have an enjoyable time, if we did go back in to the lobby we could expect more rather rude and catty comments from this woman. The last time we tried to stay with the Beach View, however was too much. We went for my birthday, and the service was so horrible and degrading that I was in tears by the time we were able to get our room! She refused to look up our reservation, refused to even type our names in the computer to check, wouldn’t even look at my ID and continued insulting and berating us until another member of staff took our information from the counter top and checked us in. The other staff helped us with our bag and profusely apologized when showing us to our room saying that the woman who insulted us was a higher ranking staff member. The staff person helping us up said that they couldn’t understand why we were being treated so disgustingly, informed us that it wasn’t entirely out of character for this one woman to act out in such an abysmal manner, and that they were surprised at how she was able to get away with providing bad service to so many people without some sort of reprimands happening. We ended up cutting our stay at the Beach view short, checking out the next morning and spent the rest of the week at another hotel right on the board walk who treated us delightfully. We don’t even consider the Beach View as a possibility now.

This was our first time at the Beach View. Very impressed! Everything was clean and the staff were so nice. For being so close to the boardwalk it was really quiet in your room. Breakfast was also very nice. Just a great place to stay!!!

I liked that this hotel is right on the beach, although it's not really a beach view per say. Also, being close, it makes for a short walk back and forth. What I don't like is that it's really old and not worth the money to stay here. The furniture is like from the 70s and the sheets are so worn, there's really no reason to have them. Everything has just aged, and I would not stay here again. Folks at the front desk are a bit fake, but nice. Just not a great place to spend my money. Next time, I'll definitely be more careful about motels here. I'll not stay at this one. Too bad.

guest services and staff are always friendly and always have been for the last 20 years! Great location- very short distance to beach which is nice when your children have to use the bathroom! Pool is great and clean. If or when there was an issue, it was always taken care of instantly and with a smile. Great memories as a child coming to rehoboth and great memories with our children now. Will always come back to Beachview!

The management is very nice and helpful. It's right next door to Royal Treat, which serves great breakfasts in the morning and terrific ice cream in the afternoon. Just a minute or two from the beach. Will be there for my 3rd Summer in August 2008........and can't wait to get there....Also, Adele and Valentine are Supers Hosts!!

The room we stayed in was very nice and clean we didn't have any problems with the Beach View. We enjoyed our stay very much we would go back and stay again.

Our kids love the Beach View! Funland practically next door, the beach is steps away and there's a great place to go for breakfast directly next door. We love it!

It's totally convenient. The hotel is located 1/2 block from the boardwalk and next door to Funland. They offer a free continental breakfast and free parking.

My entire family has come to the Beachview every year for that last five years for a week at the beach. We love the location, the people, the service, the other guests and the value. We book several rooms all together and the staff has always done their best to book us close together and even give us the same rooms each year if they can. The staff is friendly and accomodating. It is a terrific place for families because of the microwave and refirgerator in each room, the laundry facilities, the continental breakfast, the pool, and the fact that Fun Land is right across the parking lot. My family and I travel a lot and have stayed Hotels from Ritz Carltons down to Hampton Inns and the Beach View ranks up there as a favorite!
