Atlantic View Motel, Dewey Beach

Stayed here for 4th of July weekend- was happy Friday night- room was super clean (thought it was strange there was wood paneling on the bathroom floor). Saturday our two friends joined us and were just hanging out in the room and the front desk called to complain that they were being too loud. I wasn't sure but I didn't know there was a noise code in the afternoon. That evening we also thought it was strange that the manager stands downstairs and questions each person going upstairs (no guests after 11) I sort of felt like we were on a school trip.

Myself and 2 friends went to the Atlantic View Motel to celebrate a birthday. We are all young professionals in our late 20's. We received a warning that we were too loud with only 3 of us in the room talking. The following night we received a second similar warning. The staff banged on the door, screamed loudly and was extremely rude and demeaning. We politely turned off the music and left the room. We got a checkout reciept the next day for the appropriate amount, and 3 days later my credit card was charged an additional $225 for the warnings. When I called to dispute the charge, the manager said that the walls in the hotel are thin, and that is why they recommend 2 guests per room only (even though you may have up to 4 guests per room). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone but a quiet couple, and even then you are taking your chances.

Surf, combed sand, brilliant sun and a comfortable room you can call your own-who could ask for more? The Atlantic View staff has always been very courteous and helpful, even recommending specialty restaurants and points of interest. The rooms are comfortable, clean, quiet and have balconies where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view. The beach is at your doorstep, a lovely pool and lounge chairs, a variety of restaurants in many price ranges, shopping, theaters, night life, family activities, events, a complimentary continental breakfast and the soothing sound of surf. I have enjoyed coming back to the Atlantic View for a number of years and will be making my reservation soon for next summer. It's like coming home to my beach house.

My family and I just returned from a stay here that was from a monday to a friday in a garden view room facing the parking lot. We had no problems with noise issues. The access to the beach is wonderful and the pool was cold but good. The location to attractions is very convenient. We had a fantastic experience with the management and all our needs were met with extreme helpfulness. We will definitely be returning in the future.

The place was very clean and well-kept. The amenities were great. The location - right on the beach - was fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and plan to make this a regular stop.

I stayed here for a long weekend with my girlfriend and it was the worst experience I've ever had at a hotel. The manager was extremely rude from check in. She came to our room two separate times during the day to yell (yes, I said yell) at us because kids below us were being loud. I couldn't believe it! When I brought it up to the owner (new owner) he had the most condescending personality of any business owner I've ever met. Keep in mind, I am a very polite person! I felt a little better when I got into a conversation with other guests (45 year old couple) and they were treated the same way. At least he wasn't singling us out. Be warned, if you stay here, your weekend will probably be ruined by a condescending owner yelling at you because the kids down the hall are being too loud. I do not recommend staying here until the ownership changes.

I have to say that my family has stayed several times. We have enjoyed every stay. I have never had a noise problem. We have always stayed on the back of the hotel over looking the parking lot and have never had any type of noise problem. The location to the beach is awesome! My parent have stayed here as well and they referred us. We will be coming back again this year and for many years to follow.

The beautiful view from the oceanside rooms far outweigh the lack of elevators and possible noise others may have complaints about. And the price is comparable, too. We come here every year,at least once,sometimes 2 or 3 times!
