Fenwick Islander Motel, Fenwick Island

I just returned from a 3 night stay at the Fenwick Islander Motel. This hotel is wonderful. One block from the beautiful beach, walking distance to restaurants, the outdoor pool was great. I stayed on the 3rd floor (no elevators, but that was ok with us) facing the road and I couldn't hear the traffic when the door was closed. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was clean and so was the kitchenette. The price was good. If you are looking for a "free" breakfast and frou-frou, this isn't a motel for you. If you want quality and value for your money, this is the place for you.

I just read the review of the woman who stayed here during the same time my family and I stayed here. I do not know what she is talking about The Fenwick Islander was great we loved it. Our room was cleaned everday and with fresh towels every day and clean sheets every other day. We stayed one week and had a very nice stay! The young man she was talking about I think was from another country but he was very helpful to us he even carried our bags to our room for us and when I tried to give him a tip he said no no it was his job. Our ref worked great and the front desk staff were some of the friendlest people I have ever encountered at a busy motel. The price was great for what you get and I am defintely going back next year!!!

We had a great stay pleasent motel...Pool was great..It was close to everything-resturants-shopping..great family stay..we'll be back!

We had a wonderful stay as usual at the Fenwick Islander. We have been staying there every year for the past three and we will never go anywhere else. The staff is so friendly and always helpful. We have really go to know them over the years. The rooms are very well kept, the furniture could use an update but everything seems to work. We are planning on going back in September. If you go, ask for a room on the 2nd floor, back side of the building, the views are fantastic.

We have stayed at this motel off and on for the last 12 years. This was by far the worst stay we have had. The room was not clean and the bathroom was terrible. The toilet was not secured to the floor, the door was water damaged, and the shower curtain was so close to the bather that it clinged to your skin. This was the case in my dad's room too. None of the door locks and handles on the bathroom door or balconey door worked. The pool was filthy and cloudy. The pool area had only 1 umbrella and a couple of tables. This was far too few for the guests considering the pool area was in the blazing sun. We actually asked the manager where the umbrellas were because they were missing intitially. The room was missing a clock and coffee maker which we were told were stolen. Replace them! The room rates are certainly enough to cover a 3 dollar clock. The overriding theme of this stay and the motel's condition was that of lack of maintenance and poor management over sight. The front staff is nice and helpful but blissfully unaware of the condition surrounding them and the guests. We have stay here in the past and the previous review are accurate but recently something has changed for the worst. The area is beautiiful and very family friendly and there are other hotels within walking distance to the beach. We would check them out and definitely vacation in this area. The pool decking has sunk so far that the door jam leading into the motel is 4 inches lower than the jam causing a real hazard. You should avoid this motel until management addresses so of these issues.

Not only were the people pleasent, but the stay was very enjoyable. The motel is clean, and the people are ready to please. We will be making this an annual visit!

this motel was great! rooms were awesome, staff was awesome, view was awesome. nice private pool. plenty of shopping and nightlife. Rates were great and will return soon. The fall is perfect!

We loved our stay, the location of the motel nar the beach was the best. The rooms were more of a late 80's mix of furniture but they were very clean. They do need an elevator, but the manager told us the town has an ordinace prohibiting elevators in the town. Well worth the money.

We had a great time at the fenwick islander. The rooms were very clean and neat. We had a great time at the beach just across the street. We love the rooms and the staff, we try and come twice a year. We wouldn't stay anywhere else. Arlene

Unfortunately, the place was filthy. Gray marks on and in the toilet (even though the "sanitized" tape was intact - it looked like someone had been standing on the toilet with their shoes on), mildew in the tub, a woman in a room close-by complaining of bed bugs. Even the toilet paper on the roll had dirt and water marks on it when we arrived. We were also supplied with an empty box of tissues on the bathroom sink. We had been there twice before with no problems, but this year it was disgusting, and the staff was not helpful.
