On August 15, 2009 we were so excited and looked forward to a friendly, restful and comfortable stay at Rasberry Cabin Mast Farm Inn. We did not experience a comfortable, restful, friendly stay at all. When we arrived at Rasberry cabin as soon as we entered the door we noticed it felt hot inside the cabin. We seen the small window unit air condition in the downstairs den window. We turned it on the coolest setting. We went upstairs to the master bedroom and discovered no air condition. There is no air condition in the downstairs bedroom either. We got back in our vehicle and went to the main house to tell the hostess. She said she would send someone to fix the air condition. We checked back with her in two hours and she said the only working air condition was the downstairs. We asked for another room and she said there was none available. We asked for a refund and she said no. We had to purchase fans at a local store and place in the cabin to try to cool the place enough so we could get some sleep. The next morning our breakfast that was described as world class consisted of one strip of bacon and a too sweet pastry that we couldn't eat. No beverage was provided. We were so sad and felt personally hurt by the treatment we received at Mast Inn. We didn't get even a reasonable amount of hospitality. I wanted to let others know to stay away if you are looking for cool comfort and a filling satisfied breakfast. If you like to sweat and stay awake at night because you are too hot to sleep than stay in the cabin in the summer months. If you like to avoid food stay there. If you are looking for good food to feel full and satisfied you best go somewhere else.We have always lived in North Carolina and consider being nice and helpful just comes natural. We were so shocked to find the conditions that we encountered at the Mast Farm Inn. They do advertise air conditioned upstairs bedroom in their description of the Rasberry Cabin. There are outlets for air/heat in the floor but the central air doesn't work. This cabin would be good for fall, winter and early spring months when air condition isn't needed. This would be a nice cabin all year including summer if the owners would fix the air condition system. In the south it just gets too hot even in the mountains in the summer months to live without air condition. We paid $450.00 that night to sweat.
Great Hidden Treasure. We look forward to a future visit.

We had a wonderful week-end! We enjoyed it all so much. The cabin was very nice. We enjoyed our massages, the picnic basket provided for Grandfather Mountain. The meals were excellent. Honestly, everything was unforgettable! We appreciate the hospitality and care everyone gave to each detail. We look forward to a future visit.
