Sunset Inn, Panama City Beach

OK, this isn't the Ritz Carlton and maybe not on the same level with a Hampton Inn, BUT the features and benefits far outweigh any negatives you can come up with. It's become a tradition in our family to stay here and we all look forward to it several times a year. The staff and owners treat you like family and you're always made to feel right at home! I traveled for many years in business and I'd be hard pressed to name one or two places that treated me so well through the years as Sunset Inn does. Jim, Chris and Anne do a magnificent job taking care of guests and we really appreciate it!

it has a swimming pool because it's warm and relaxing, its very nice and we will deffinately go back next year. The service was great and this is 5th time there we really love it and it's very peaceful

my family and I have stayed there every year for the last 10 years.Now that we are grandparents, we have begun taking our 3 yr. oldgrandson who loves it also. It is very relaxing since it's right on the beach yet away from all the crowds. We make friends with other families staying there every year. The owners are on site to handle any issues that may arise and they are so friendly it's almost like family.

We had a great experience. We would go back anytime. Whoever runs this hotel knows what they are doing!!! We went in the last part of the season, but the hotel kept things going...music, shows, activities. I was proud...my hotel was the best one in the area and you could see the difference easily. Nice rooms, extra service. Security staff was professional. The main guy was retired DEA. They kept any issues to a minimum and watched out for the safety of us--although the people in the area rarely need any supervision--they are nice. They kept kids from hurting themselves getting rowdy. Hot towels, free drinks and snacks were plentiful. The smell of Hamburgers at the Tiki Hut would drive you crazy... smelled like grilled steaks. Had to have one before I left. Tasted like it smelled! Kids eat free. I wanted to write a response because I thought that we got exceptional value. I rarely write responses. Good for the family in non-spring break times!

We tend to stay in Rosemary Beach, in a condo, but wanted to stay less than a week and found Sunset Inn on the web. It is very family friendly. My seven year old made 3 or 4 new friends at the pool. The pool and room were nicely kept. The access to the beach is fantastic. It is quiet after dark and just a very nice all around value for a family. A little weathered as it is from the old days of motels, but the value is there and if you are looking for a room that you aren't going to be in all day (i.e., you will be at the pool and beach) then this place is terrific.

I am not a picky person. I was very excited about Sunset Inn by reading all the good reviews but was very disappointed after getting there. It's okay for the money, we stayed a week (not in the room but to sleep & shower) but my room was not clean. We have two small children. There was mold all over our bathroom walls and around the top of the shower. The room did not appear to be cleaned well before our check in. There was sauce all over the top & sides of the stove, the silverware was dirty (but they expect you to clean the dishes before you leave or your charged $5.00). There was crumbs all over the counter. They did not clean the room daily, but did bring in new towells. The pool was tiny for the crowd that comes to the pool during the stay. We didn't cook their, we bought our own silverware if we needed it and our own paper plates, it just grossed me out! The last day we had strange bugs in the bathroom. And at night I always itched in the bed like something was bitting on my legs. My little girl wouldn't even sleep in the bed! Our room also was not dusted either, it was covered in dust and the fridge which you can see the top of was covered in greasy dust. So I'm not sure if it was just our room but it was not clean by no means! It did have full frige, small stove, sink, counter top with chairs, toaster and coffee maker (you buy your own coffee, soap to wash dishes etc) No hair dryer in bathroom or shampoos, but they did give bar soap. No internet No pets welcome Trying to cover everything here that I can. I would not ever recommend this to my friends, which is sad because of all the "good reviews". I'd beware of this place if I was you, I wish I had of not had my hopes up so high that it would of been a good place to stay. Oh another thing i didn't like is there is no lock on the door to lock at night to keep your kids from getting out if they unlocked the knob or dead bolt. They also use key entry. The fact of the old keys and no lock to lock the door at night scared me with just "anyone" coming in on you while you are sleeping, very scary. Not the best choice in PCB.

wE LIKED THE FACT THAT IT WAS A FAMILY ENVORMENT. THE BEACH WAS LIGHT UP AT NIGHT AND THERE WERE CHILDREN AND AUDLTS AT PLAY ON THE BEACH. IT WAS NICE TO HAVE THE OCEAN AND A VERY NICE POOL. THE ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED IN THEM. THE CLEANING STAFF WAS EXCELLANT. WILL GO BACK FOR YEARS.

Location, atmosphere and easy access to everything. We have been here at least 15 times and it gets better each time. We can't wait to get back. We have even started doing some Christmas's here as well.

This will be our 4th year staying at Sun Set Inn... We love it, the owners Penny and Gus are wonderful and so are their family.. I have two children and they treat them like their own... I can't wait to go back.. If you want family fun and peace and quiet that's the place to go!!
