Great hotel for the pricing!!!
By Jamee, 10/10/09
My husband and I needed a weekend away and decided to check into a hotel. We wanted a exclusive hotel at an economical price! Upon arrival my first instinct was no. The lobby was small, there was only one elevater, and the eating area was small as well. However, once we got in our room (which was ocean view) it was incredible! The rooms are remodeled with very nice linens and nice bathroom decor. It also has a kitchenette. The room was exceptionally clean and we had great service. Needless to say my husband and I never left the room! It was very fun and inexpensive. I would recommend it to anyone!

We loved this place in the past......
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/09
We had stayed at the Best Western Mainsail 5 times in the last seven years and always loved our stay. In 2007 in their Penthouse suite, it was wonderful. The view from that rooftop full condo is heaven, so are the balcony views from the other rooms. This last visit was just sad. It seems that for the last year, maintenance is gone. I stepped on a jagger bush at the bottom of the stairs leading to the ocean and had my foot full of pinchers that I had to pull out. Planters are left with weeds that seem to be left from last year. The baby pool had green mold all over the bottom (I guess it is not working), but wasn't noted to be closed. The pretty tables and blue umbrellas we were used to were gone. Paint is peeling on all railings and our balcony was not clean. Power went out when we used the hair dryer. This hotel had a nostalgic look before, but since it was built a long time ago needs alot of care. We felt so sad to see it falling into disrepair. Our room was otherwise clean and the employees kind and helpful. I'm sad to say we won't be coming back.

Would Consider a Return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/20/06
The best thing about this hotel is the location. We had a room with a great ocean view -- just opened the door and listened to the sounds of the waves crashing on the beach as we watched from our balcony. Although the room seemed clean enough, our biggest complaint was a funky odor. We even bought some air freshener to help it and opened the ocean-side door, but couldn't seem to get rid of it. So we left wondering just how clean it really was. If all you care about is an inexpensive room with a view, this is a good find.

Be Careful!
By Brad, 02/14/06
The staff were nice and helpful. As for the room, well, it was clean. Newly renovated? NO. Bad plaster job...exposed wiring and junction boxes in cabinets. Bathroom had a vent that was loose and about to fall out, fixtures were all either rusted or covered in corrosion. Water pressure was almost non existant. Full kitchen included a stove top, dorm size fridge, NO microwave and dirty dishes. Room had an unexplainable foul odor. As for the heated pool, well, I drove 1000 miles and was really looking forward to a nice dip in the "heated" pool. I was there for 5 days and the pool was never heated. Also, the pool was very dirty. All the seagulls that seemed to live in the pool didn't seem to mind though. Overall I would say it was about average..........for a cheap motel on the other side of the street!

Lovely get-away.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/05/06
We had a wonderful stay at Best Western Mainsail. The room was quite comfortable and lots of room. We had a room with a kitchenette, and it was nicely furnished with necessary items such as dish soap and towels. Our only complaint was we were on the wrong side of the building to enjoy the morning sun and the temperature was a little chilly, so we didn't get to enjoy our balcony very much. Breakfast was simple, but quite plentiful and people and staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all, very pleasant!
