Glen Motor Inn, Watkins Glen

Hasn't been remodeled in a very long time. Furniture is from the 1960s or older. Driveways all broken and chopped up. Only thing this place had was a nice view from the room.

We stay here everytime we go to NY for wine and are never disappointed. Staff are wonderful and the restaurant is first rate. The rooms overlook the lake and are not fancy, but comfortable. Ask for the rooms that are open in Winter, they are much nicer, heated floors, bigger, nicer. We love this place, it is a favorite

We were at The Glen for three days of racing and stayed at GMI. Really terrible rooms. Dirty, old, peeling wallpaper, dead bugs. I have stayed in some pretty lousy hotels in my life but this was by far the worst. I will say the staff was OK and food in the restaurant was good.

The view of the lake from Glen Motor Inn is absolutely wonderful. The Inn is located on the left side of Seneca Lake. The rooms were clean and tidy. They were a nice size. We were with a group of 5 couples that spent a long weekend in Watkins Glen. We all had a wonderful time and are planning a return visit next year and I can't wait. We will be staying here again. The food at the Montage Italian Grill was also great.

I can't believe it when I read all of the negative reviews about this place! We will be returning for our "9th" year this summer and have nothing but wonderful memories! There are six of us who go there every August during Italian Festival Weekend. It's so nice and relaxing to just sit on the balcony at night with a chilled bottle of wine from one of the many great wineries and watch the boats out on the lake. The Saturday night of the festival, they shoot off fireworks over the lake and the view from the balcony is breathtaking!! Our rooms have always been clean and the service great!! The owner and his wife, Linda, are wonderful people and have always treated us so nice!! I can't imagine NOT going there every year or staying someplace else! Our trip just wouldn't be the same! No, this isn't a 4-star hotel nor does it boast to be. It's a quaint motor inn with a breathtaking view of the lake anytime of the day... whether you are drinking your morning cup of coffee or enjoying a late night glass of wine! I highly recommend this place!!!!! We're counting down the days until our next trip up!!!!! "The Notorious Six from PA"

First thing the owner did was complain about the way our bikes were parked on the driveway.It was getting dark by the time we stopped for the nite and i regret not going on to look for a different place for the nite. There was only 1 room left, it smelled very stale, stains on the carpet, and there was water dripping down the window inside the room due to the air-conditioner running from the room above. I complained to the owner Vic who brought an ice bucket and towels to soak it up,and i also requested a price reduction. He said no and shut the door in my face. If we were'nt so tired from a long days ride, i can't believe i let myself stay there. He should pay people to sleep there. The milk at breakfast is also watered down. Don't waste your money at this place. This place should rest at the bottom of the lovely lake it sits beside. It has'nt seen any upgrading in years.This owner does'nt deserve anybodys business.

I would have to dispute some of the previous reviews that were posted about this fine old establishment, which is celebrating it's 70th year in operation. If anyone has ever rented or stayed in a cottage along any Finger Lake, there is just a sort of special ambiance associated with doing so. This place has that. Granted, it is not a modern 3 or 4 star hotel, and it's guests should not expect it to be! It could use some new paint on the exterior, for appearance purposes, but that is my only complaint. Our room (#60) was very clean, no carpet stains as mentioned in past posts, we had air conditioning, clean comfortable beds and cable TV. Best of all... the balcony, high up on the west valley side of Seneca Lake. An amazing view!!! Fantastic. I highly recommend this motel. The view is fantastic. Don't expect a Marriott though that others have. The restaurant has excellent food also! We greatly enjoyed our stay here.

We stayed there for 2 night with our kids. The room was a bit small, but it had fantastic view of the lake, and was very clean and homey. The front desk lady, Marilyn, went out of her way to make us feel at home, and helped us a lot with her extensive knowledge of whats going on around. The pool was OK, and so was breakfast. I'd go there again.

This place is an extremely old motor inn but it is very clean and has a fantastic view of the Seneca Lake. We had a room with a balcony and it was absolutely beautiful in early morning and evening watching the sun rise and set. The staff are extremely helpful and nice. Beds were comfortable. Although not the most up to date place we would definitely go back again. Centrally located to the Seneca lake wineries and the town of Watkins Glen. Great if you are going to the Wine Festival as a shuttle picks you up at the hotel.

The people were very friendly and offered to show us a room because we were undecided. The bathroom had a heated floor and was newly remodeled. The view from all rooms is incredible. Much nicer than some others we stayed in in the area. We plan to stay there again this year.
