OK-but odd temperance lecture is off-putting
I found their rather surly and forceful "No alcohol in the room!" lecture, when I called to book the room, a bit strange. It didn't matter to me too much, though, because I am not in the habit of getting stinking drunk in hotel rooms on business trips, anyway. But just because I don't like being told what to do when I shell out a fair amount of money, I brought a small bottle of booze with me, for pure spite and contrariness, and had a nightcap, anyway. The sky didn't fall. The alcohol police did not beat down the doors. I think that prohibition is their way of saying "No partying in the place."
The breakfast is just OK. It is definitely continental--cereal, yoghurt, a bit of fruit, coffee, buns--like that. Not a big old meal, just something to break the fast.
If you need to be in the area during the off-season, it is quite suitable. If you are paying hundreds for each room, on the "on season" I would recommend trying to find a home rental, instead, if you're going to be there for any amount of time, or find a hotel a bit more "inland" and travel to the sea.
I don't think the owners have to kiss any behind because they are in a good location--people will tolerate the quirks because there's little competiton in the very immediate area.
