Oakdell Motel, Waterford

This motel is old, needs numerous repairs and it shows. The room was clean but we had NO hot water at all. The office doesn't open until 8:00 in the morning-we had to be up and gone before that. Showering in ice cold water will surely wake you up, especially on a rainy, 50 degree morning. Upon letting the staff know of the inconvenience, I was questioned as to whether I'd let the water run long enough? They found that something had gone wrong with the water heater and couldn't be fixed until the next day and we were given the option to move to another room. I wasn't thrilled to have to sleep in a twin bed and we were given NO offer of a discount on the rates for our troubles-VERY DISAPPOINTING.

The price we were charged upon checking in was greater than what we were quoted over the phone, and the bed was uncomfortable, but those are the only drawbacks in our stay at this motel. The service was very friendly, the decor of our large room was fantastic and very at-home feeling. This motel is very clean from the interior to the grounds and very conveniently located to area attractions. Rooms had both a refridgerator and a microwave, making it very comfortable and convenient! Perhaps off-season a stay would be a better value, and it would be nice if it were, because this was a very nice to place to stay.

THE OAKDELL MOTEL - IS A GREAT LOCATION TO ALL FUN THINGS TO DO. WE WERE CELEBRATING OUR 38TH ANNIVERSARY AND WHEN WE ARRIVED AT OAKDELL GAIL AND HER STAFF HAD A BEAUTIFUL BOUQUET OF RED MINITURE ROSES...A VERY NICE THOUGHT. THE GROUNDS ARE WELL KEPT AND THE MOTEL IS VERY CLEAN...THERE WAS NOTHING YOU COULD WANT FOR.... THIS IS A DEFINITE PLACE TO STAY....
