Won't go back.

The web site/photos are very good for this hotel however seeing it in person is quite different. The price was $81.75 (with tax)for one night. We made reservations for the hotel on the phone and they said that it would be non-refundable. (I would not have stayed if it was refundable)The door looked like it had been broken into before and did not close tightly. We used the security chain/lock at night. The room was clean with some spiders in most floor corners. I think they come in around the loose door. The carpet looked faded and had old stains. The ceilings are low. The air conditioner was loud but fortunately was working. The reading light above our bed was broken. All areas of the room show distress marks and is poorly painted. The sheets were clean and the bed was comfortable. We did not use the pool. It had some grass floating on top, someone had just mowed. The building on the outside had rotten wood around some of the windows, some areas of the building had green moss growing on it, and the building is just tired looking. Someone made an effort to grow some flowers. Continental breakfast consisted of coffee and bagels (not available until 8 am). We passed on it,checked out and had breakfast in Stowe at The Dutch Pancake Cafe (highly recommend). We will try Sunset Motor Inn next time. Some friends of ours who were also visiting students at Johnson College stayed there and spoke very well of it. It is closer to Johnson College and looked very well cared for when we drove by it. If we come back to ski at Stowe we would stay right in Stowe for convenience. The person who checked us in also takes care of the golfers checking in and out. He was very friendly and gave us great dining tips when we arrived.

great weekend getaway

Extremely friendly people! The rooms are a bit spartan, but they are very clean. The golf course is fun and well kept. Great place to take the kids to learn the game. The continental breakfast was good and hit the spot before playing golf. It's just a few minutes from Stowe and about a half hour or so from Jeffersonville, both with very good dining and activities available. If you're looking for a five star resort this isn't the place. It's a great casual, friendly and relaxing place to get away from it all.
