Sugar Hill Inn, Sugar Hill

The inn itself is beautiful, well situated, and very clean. We were told breakfast was between 8 and 9 am, however, and were left sitting in the dining room until 8:30 when the assistant innkeeper told us we should have known that is when breakfast was served. The next night, however, we were scolded for arriving 10 minutes early for dinner. Dinner itself was unappealing. Breakfast, however, was excellent, except for the 2 small fruit flies floating in my poached pears. All in all, we liked the inn itself, but service we found to be somewhat cold and uninviting. There are other inns around we wished we might have experienced instead, and wont be returning to the Sugar Hill Inn.

Don't know about the other reviews. This was everything we had hoped for in a country inn. quaint, charming and friendly innkeepers. we have already rebooked for another stay and will be telling all of our friends that this is the place to go. while we thought the bed was very comfortable, it is a very personal thing-bed comfort. i would never complain about a bed a slept only 1 or 2 nights.

I was there this weekend for a wedding reception and the place was beautiful but the owners were not very nice. We sat outside under a covered tent on a porch that should only be used in the summer or fall. We froze and had to smell a propane heater on the porch while we ate. It was very unprofessional. Not recommended.

The owners were nice but the room was unimpressive. The bed was hard, the bath water was brown and they hit you over the head with hints for gratuity.
