We thought that the Villager was a bit better than the Maine Street Motel. We stayed at both on this trip, and everything was generally average. Rates were good considering the norm, and the Wi-Fi was free and available in our room. We'd stay here again, and will likely do so on our next trip to Acadia.

Good location BUT ...

I paid $120 for one night. I expected to stay in something a little more modern. The TV, decoration, bedding and air conditioning system reminded me of a cheezy motel from the 1970s. The remote to the TV did not work, so I could not watch television. (No option to change channels on the TV itself.) One of the lamps did not work. I never received my 7:30 am wake up call. Maybe worth $59 per night to compensate for the nice staff and convenient location.

July Getaway with the Kids

We got adjoining rooms and stayed for 2 nights in July 2008. Kids loved the pool and we all loved our rooms, they were clean, big and had everything we wanted.. Kids had there own room and we had ours. THe staff was nice, professional and friendly and the two sisters who run it are top notch. We really enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to staying longer this year with them. WOuld Highly recommend.

Nice people, great location for everything

Staff was very friendly, room was clean, showers were hot and the location was so convenient to going into the town area where all rest'ts/bars are located. We stayed off season so the pool was closed but this motel had the feel of a family oriented place...great value too!!!! Definitely would return!!!!

We'll definitely go back

This was our first stay at the Villager. Arriving by motorcycle, we weren't sure how we'd be received, but the staff was super friendly. It rained our first evening there, and when we went out the next morning, we found that the staff had left some towels, in a plastic bag, on our bike, so that we could wipe it down after the rain. These folks are very motorcycle friendly and we will definitely be back!

Second year in a row!

The staff is friendly and will go out of their way to accomodate your wishes. We got a room on short notice last year and had a great experience. The room is large and comfortable, and the upstairs deck is great for hanging out at night and meeting your neighbors. We were treated like family and made plans to go back this year. Just made reservations for our first stay this year. You can't beat the rates, and the location is perfect for any activities. It's the only place we'll stay on our trips to Bar Harbor.
