Never had a chance to stay and never will
My rating is based on lack of common sense, understanding, and hospitality.
I made reservations at Boothbay Harbor Inn for a weekend during the summer of 2005. I made the reservation with a male clerk with an accent that I could hardly understand (perhaps Indian?). Within minutes of making the reservation, I called my wife to tell her of the reservation. My fault, but I planned a weekend that was in conflict with my wifes personal schedule.
I called Boothbay Harbor Inn back within the half-hour to cancel the reservation. This time I spoke with a female clerk, who explained to me that a $25.00 administrative fee is charged for all cancellations. I never understood that at the time I made the reservation or else I would have been weary about making a reservation under that policy. Also, because of my schedule, I didnt have the flexibility of planning too far in advance, so simply rescheduling the reservation to another weekend wasnt an option. I was out of luck and $25.
As it turned out we were able to visit the area three weekends later, and stayed at another location, much more friendlier than I imagine Boothbay Harbor Inn could ever be.
