Cromwell Harbor Motel, Bar Harbor

they took a reservation but did not honor my cancellation. Get everything in writing .. my reservation was never confirmed, but somehow my credit card was charged and they never acknowledged that I called and cancelled: no one "remembered" talking to me! So I paid for two rooms I never used. In addition, they were snotty about it!

Tried others, but nothing compares, repeat customers for over 20 years now ! The right place to base your east coast vacation at, no noisy town or hotel chain mainia here, just a beautiful, peaceful and serene place to close each perfect day, and have you charged and ready to start a new (or hang at the pool, talk to other room mates, everyone is nice there). Location is perfect, a short walk to the town of Bar Harbor for food or shopping or checking out the ocean bay area (town also has everything you need!). Owners work hard to do it right for the customer, and are always helpful and ready to please! Just, wonderful ;-).

Title says it all! Arrived with three kids in tow (hubby had to stay home and work) and immediately knew this place was going to work out! Clean, spacious room... even the bathroom was spacey! The staff was very nice and got us our room keys within 5 minutes of entering the office. The pool was heated and the kids really enjoyed it. The motel is on Main street BUT just enough away from the hustle and bustle of it to not be bothered by traffic and noise. Cromwell is located within minutes of most of Acadia Park attractions so there is plenty to do all the time. Can't wait to go back!

It has been our delightful haven each Fall for more than twenty years. It is away from the bustle of Bar Harbor, but still within it, and the proprietors and owners are of the "salt of the downeast" kind of people.

My wife and I have stayed here twice now, after trying several other places. Cromwell Harbor motel is a 5-10 minute walk to all the downtown attractions. Close enough, yet far enough from the hustle & bustle of the town center. We've always stayed in a 2nd floor room with a king bed. The room was always neat and clean, housekeeping of the room and grounds is excellent. Price is reasonable, considering the location. Keep in mind that finding a parking space downtown is usually difficult, so it is nice to be able to walk! Highly recommended!

We've come to bar harbor every few years since 1976, we've stayed at Cromwell Harbor most often, but have tried other places. We feel that Cromwell Harbor keeps the authenticity, homeyness, and rural feeling most definitely. We'll stay there every time we travel there from now on. It is the way Bar Harbor should be!!! It is nostalgia, ruralness, cleaness, and down-homeness to a T!!!!!!!
