Back again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/13/08
After reading some reviews just had to add ours to them. We are coming back again this year for the third year and are looking forward to it. Fantastic staff, food and accommodation add to our relaxing peaceful time away from very busy lives at home so that is just want we want. Holidays are what you make of them and with the people we have met over the years our holidays are some of the best we could ask for. Nothing is a problem and if there is it is soon sorted out. Keep up the good work and see you soon. The Four Kiwis

freindly atmostphere but pricey food and drinks!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/08
We thought the resort was lovely , the rooms were clean with a great view of the water. we found the staff so friendly and knew our names by the first afternoon, all the staff fell over themselves to help us and just to stop and chat to us , very refreashing coming from sydney. The owners were an older american couple and even though they stayed on site didn't go out of their way to talk to the guests. The menu we found very pricy concidering the resort was 2.5 star the prices were 5 star, and even though the chief did an amazing job with the food. the 'prime fillet steak' was cook to our liking but was very tough and was not prime fillet , we weren't the only ones that night who could not eat the steack , also we found the dry fish we got served the following night for $48 it didn't taste as good as the $8 fish in town. The variet on the menu was very limited to only about 6 dishes and some of them were off on the day so limited us even more. We ate out a few times at the next resort which was a 5 star and found the food was more appitizing and much better value for money, as were the drinks. tambua sands were charging $17.50 for a cocktail , the same cocktail at the 5 star resort was larger and $7 cheaper. I would recomend the resort as we felt relaxed and loved the friendly staff but would recomend you eat out at other resorts or in the town.

If it was up to my 8year old daughter we'd be there every school holidays
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/7/05
Fantastic place, very simple in style and nature, but worth its wait in gold.Staff were amazing, made us feel very welcomed. Thought the owners (who live on site) would talk and spend more time with guests, but this was not to be. The only criticism is that I thought the menu was very limited, particularly for dinner. There was one night that all we wanted was a burger(maybe off of the kids menu)but this was not allowed. As there is only 1 restaurant on site,I thought the choice was not great, and that there should have been a simpler, cheaper menu. other than that I will definately return at some stage , and will refer others to the same location.

We keep coming back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/4/05
The genuine friendliness of all the staff cannot be bettered by any other resort. On our second, and subsequent visits, we were greeted by name, and made instantly welcome like long lost friends. The atmosphere is terrific, food excellent, accommodation very comfortable, although the lighting in the bures could be better at night for reading. The activities were as good as and in some instances, better than the "more upmarket" resorts. Fantastic sunsets that can be photographed right outside your bure, great snorkelling and swimming both in the pool and the sea. A truly wonderful holiday destination.

Top Resort for Low Price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/21/05
The Tambua Sands is an excellent place to stay if you can't afford the more expensive resorts on the Coral Cost, but still want the friendliness, beautiful views and an all around great time on your Fiji holiday. Firstly, the staff are the most friendliest people you will come across in the whole of Fiji. They really make you feel welcome, and do their best to serve you. The bure's, well, we stayed in an "Ocean View" bure. Those are towards the back. Let me just say, if you have never seen/been close to Geckos, now is your time, because they do come inside and sit on your walls outside, but don't worry, they are harmless and you get used to them, trust me!, same with the toads! The bure's are clean and spacious. The food is delicious, the lunch and dinner menu's are of top standard and as good as you'll find in the best of hotels. My only critisism is that their activities should make more use of the resort area, and less of activities like Pool Volleyball, sport orientated activities within the resort. The area surrounding the resort is so beautiful and everyone should see it! If I return to Fiji, I will definitely stay at The Tambua Sands (in a beach front bure)!

A brilliant 4 days.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/04
After 6 weeks of travelling Australia and New Zealand we found this a wonderful location to relax, but very remote so you have to eat and drink at the resort unless you have a car or are out on a trip. The staff went out of their way to make the stay a fantastic experience. At the time we were there the occupancy was low but the entertainment was high and everyone went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. All day and every evening there was something to do if you wanted to join in, but on the other hand you could just relax and do nothing in the wonderful surroundings. Only complaints: Pillows were lumpy and the towels were getting a bit thin.
