Elegant oasis in busy Bangkok -
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Nai Lert Park Hotel and would gladly return - it is set in the middle of a leafy, shady park with a large, free form pool set in the middle. You could hear the birds sing in the morning! Returning to hotel after hot, dusty day of sightseeing was a pleasure.
Room and amenities were excellent, clean, bathroom and air conditioning functioned without fault. Decor is elegant, sober and business like, punctuated by lovely orchid arrangements, sculpture and fountains in the public spaces. We only ate breakfast at the hotel, but it was excellent.
Location seems a little off the beaten path, but not really. It is still in central Bangkok, but in a particularly quiet part of town, surrounded by embassies. Taxis are always available, and taxis are so reasonable in Bangkok, sometimes the only way to get to certain attractions, such as the Wat Pho or the Bangkok Palace. Ten minutes by foot, down a quiet, shady street, takes you to the elevated train and big department stores on Sukhumvit Boulevard.
Most of all, staff always smiling, warm and helpful, good service ... but we found this to be generally true throughout Thailand. The Thai people have to be among the nicest in the world ...
This would be a great place for a family visiting Bangkok wanting the amenities of a top class hotel.
This was our second stay in Bangkok. We stayed at the Oriental Hotel the first time, which was quite lavish. For a significant difference in price, however, you still get a wonderful hotel stay at the Nai Lert Park.
