SPLENDID SPIRAL BUFFET AT SOFITEL - THANKS ENSOGO
For students like me with tightly-budgeted allowances, ensogo.com.ph is heaven-sent! I thought I would never ever taste the succulent food at SOFITEL - one of the most prestigious luxury hotels in Manila - until Ensogo strikes a deal with them. My friends and I immediately bought vouchers because they were so temptingly affordable! The Spiral Buffet has several cooking stations which you can choose from. Mine was the Chinese Buffet station which offers so many delicious choices. We all had a fun time creating our do-it-yourself Mediterranean salads! The cheeses were so good, I had to take my time in choosing which one I loved the most. The Italian pizza and pasta were deli! The pizza especially is not like the rest of the fast food fare which comes out dry and unexciting. At Sofitel, the pizzas are loaded with yummy toppings and the crust is perfectly cooked. The Prime ribs are also a famous choice. By the end of the festive meal, freshly baked chocolate chip cookies will surely make a perfect dining experience. Sofitel as a luxurious hotel lives up to its reputation with an unbelievable buffet! The sumptuous food choices to be had at Sofitel are amazing and my friends and I have Ensogo to thank for such a bargain price!

Fantastic Hotel!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/2/11
This is luxury hotel you don't want to miss. The location (near the Mall of Asia), pool ambiance (facing Manila Bay and its glorious sunsets), and unbelievable buffet (Spiral; a little pricey, but you get what you pay for!) all add up for a wonderful stay. We are from Virginia USA and have Filipino roots, but my wife and I are definitely coming back.

this time im not impressed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/3/10
we've stayed here in sofitel several times . usual site of our convention. let me tell you our experience this time. we were prebooked by our sponsor since feb., the other night when we checked in, my wifes name was nowhere to be found, so we assumed the responsibility using our own account , no where to check for the sponsor because it was a weekend. 2 nights later, the reservation was confirmed, it was the hotels inefficiency why my wifes name was not in the list. 2nd, do you know that if not for the convention, you have to pay your parking fee now even if you are checked in hmmm bad for locals . new policy according to the valet boys who you have to pay additional fee i.e. compulsary tip of 100 pesos. 3rd , only 4 persons allowed to use the pool even if you are checked in. hmm i have 3 little kids. will i just send one adult for my 3 kids and let the pool man watch my kids who is so busy trying to control bigger kids climbing the slides.??? 4rth, the whole day today, we had no bath towels. i requested before we went to the pool. no towels were delivered after 2 hrs. i followed it up again, and i cant believe it towels arrived 1 hour after my kids were dried up with unused clothes, cant watch them freeze in the room after the swim. whats next i dont know cause we are still here for another day. hope you have a different experience.

Very good
Fine hotel with nice rooms and a splendid buffet. Unlike what the garageo wrote I feel the buffet is more than great. I travel a lot for business and have not seen many buffets like in Sofitel Manila. Further a good Sports Bar, nice inside bar with live music and a nightclub kind of bar. Only remark is that the Spa (Lespa) is very expensive for Manila standards.Staff is very friendly (and all have name plates) and helpfull, hotel and rooms are very clean. Perfect location at Manila Bay, unfortunately not with beach, but with good swiming poll and 2 waterslides.

Bad buffet service
By thegarageo, 8/31/09
I've already been able to eat buffets at the shangri-la hotels, mandarin hotel and dusit with my family and sofitel has the worst service!! Yesterday we ate at sofitel for their lunch buffet. During the course, I asked for more water from a waiter who gave me a look that didn't want to be bothered so I was already thinking he won't give me my water and he didn't! (All this time there were no waiters near us to ask for more water) So when I saw and asked water from him again, he didn't even have an apologetic face that he forgot. I saw him grab a pitcher of water then went to our table, gave my dad water (NOT EVEN ME! who has been asking for water twice!) then the other table beside us asked for water and the waiter went to their side and gave TWO of them the water they needed and ignored our table completely! (we were a table of 7) so I went straight to him and told him off and guess what his reason was?? "Sorry but the other table asked for water and I ran out" that really pissed me off. I WAS THE FIRST ONE TO ASK FOR WATER AND HE GIVES OUR WATER TO THE TABLE BESIDE US! The waiter didn't have a nameplate (which was odd) so I didn't get his name but he's the only one there with a big beer belly. The food was not even exceptionally great (dusit cross-over buffet is better), they're the farthest hotel from where I live and the most expensive buffet than the other buffet hotels considering we have discount cards in all the hotels I mentioned including sofitel.

Good facilities
By trixie, 5/9/08
I remember the room being okay, but the pool and the grounds were fantastic! Swimming was fun! The service was good, and the restaurant was pretty. The location isn't good though.
