A Questionable Hotel Restaurant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/15/06
The Japanese restaurant Zipangu is serving a Teppanyaki that is totally overpriced and it is tasteless. It is no show and is served in a western way!!. The food prepared is totally mistreated. Do not eat Teppanyaki at this restaurant. The hotel is not at all as good Shangri La as in Hong Kong,Singaporeand/or in Bangkok. If you look for a 5* hotel in KL do not stay here. GBRB

Average place, Great Bkfst
By Neeraj, 3/9/06
Location is good, but a bit of walk from Petronas and Suria KLCC esp if you have kids. The rest of shopping areas, you need to take a cab. Room decor is a bit dated. The first night, our room had a lot of musty odour, housekeeping came and sprayed something which didnt work too much and my midnight my 3 yr old daughter was wheezing. In morning, we asked them to change our room which they did without a fuss to a room which was OK. My point is that if they knew that the room smelled, why give it out in first place. On the positive side, the breakfast buffest is the best Ive seen, not to be missed.

A real Shangri-la
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/8/09
The hotel is one of the best in the whole of Malaysia.I stayed there for 4 nights. The view from the rooms are also great, some even have the Petonas Twin Tower in them. However the hotel is not located in the Bukit Bintang Shopping District like other luxury hotels such as the westin and jw marriott and is about a 15 minute walk from the Twin Towers.

A little Over-rated
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/21/05
We went during the peak season in August with my two kids. The rooms were okay for a 5-star hotel. However, the water was very dirty as the faucets gave out brownish water. The room had a very strong turpentine smell. As we had two children, we asked to change rooms but the manager refused as they claimed that it was full house. Moreover, they mentioned that the brownish water is pretty common in K.L. I have stayed at the Ritz Carlton and the Micasa Hotel in K.L. and the water is never brown. I wonder if the hotel's water pipes are rusty. The food at the restuarant is very pricey and not very platable. For the amount you pay, you might as well eat at the restaurant outside. The other facilities are okay other than the water and the food.

Great Place to Stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/30/05
We stayed in Shangri-La for three days it it was fantastic start of our honeymoon. Very welcoming staff, beautiful food and fantastic view from the room! We were very impressed with the open air pool and enjoyed a drink in a lounge with the view to the jungle courtyard. This place will never dissapoint! Mick and Larissa Norton

Not to be missed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/19/06
Room was excellant as was the breakfast buffet which should on no account be missed. Staff in the 'Pub' were amongst the most attentive anywhere and service and food were both of a very high standard. The Happy hour is well worth a visit, and even the cabaret band went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Location of the hotel is very good being in between Petronas/KLCC and the KL Tower. Only drawback is crossing K.L's roads which is described locally as a new extreme sport.

Good hotel The hotel is conveniently located the service is good. I go to Malaysia for business and do not have much time for site seeing , but the location allows you to walk around at night, some nice places in the area. Service is excellent, Ive not tried the restaurants. A bit pricy for Malaysian standards, Some other hotels of same level, offer you a little more for thet price (ex. Free internet connection, etc)

Just Another Superb Hotel in KL
By Zalmai, 3/29/06
The Hotel is just another super luxury place for staying during holidays or business. The damp smell is common in tropical climates and all the hotels in BKK, SIN, TPE, JKT and MNL do smell sometime but that not necessary nor worth mentioning. The buffet and restuarants were superb and the landscaping is also immaculate.
