This hotel, although not beachfront, had a wonderful location because it is smack in the middle of town, and you can get anywhere for 15 pesos (about $1.50) For example, we went to Isla Mujeres, local nightclubs, the beach resorts, and the beachfront hotel zone and were still able to stay in a small but clean hotel with very friendly service. The restaurant's food was delicious and affordable, and their breakfast buffet was great!
The only thing I disliked was that everybody in the hotel didn't speak english, but they were quick to find someone that did. The service was excellent. The rooms were very clean. We had a suite so it was probably bigger than the normal rooms. I was there from 3/6/06 - 3/12/06 so I had a lot of time to get the ends and outs. I suggest that you bring your on drinking water and soap, but that's not the hotel fault that's any hotel in mexico. When I first got there to get to the hotel zone the cab drivers were asking us to by $15 to $20 one way, but I soon learned that no price is set in stone when you have American money. After the first three days we were only paying about $6 to $8. If you start walking away the prices drop quickly, because there are no meter in these cabs so they can charge whatever they think you will pay. Also the wireless internet worked, but not that well when you in your room, but if you just go to the lobby or bar with your labtop you'll be fine.
