not for first times in Japan..
By ,
I've lived in Japan for over a year now. I can say that this location would not be good for first time people. Shinjuku station is a nightmare alone for a first time visitor. Kabukicho next to the hotel doesn't help either. Its a nice enough hotel, I would reccomend though the Shinagawa Prince hotel over this one. Location and train station are much easier to navigate than this Shinjuku one. If your experienced with Japan, this hotel will do okay, first time, go with Shinagawa.

Worst in 15yrs
By ,
This place is the biggest dump ever , I have pictures of the stains all over my floor , the wall paper pealing around the window , stains on my mattress-- after I pulled off the sheets to see why it was such a bad mattress . I almost threw up . No one spoke english , or knew what a sheraton was when I asked because I needed to go there. The room bed was so small I thought I was in a closet get ready for this $122 USA a night . I have stayed roadside motel 6 , it would have been 5 star in comparison , and it smelled in the hallways and the room , I have pictures of the whole thing and will be putting them when I return to the states .

Awesome location
By ,
The location is perfect for doing almost anything in Tokyo because the busiest station in the world is steps away. There is a ton of nightlife as well that is within stumbling distance of the hotel, so you don't have to worry about taxis or last trains. There is a great yaki-niku place a few doors down, and a nice lounge at the top of the hotel for romantic drinks.

Just for sleeping
By ,
Shinjuku Prince was a decent hotel. English speaking staff was helpful. Excellent location, quick walk to JR Railway lines, Tokyo Metro lines. Excellent nightlife area. Room was very small. Just room to sleep. Bathroom very small anyone 6 foot and above would have trouble in shower.

Nice business hotel in Tokyo, great location
By ,
The Shinjuku Prince is a typical Tokyo high-rise hotel located right in the heart of Shinjuku. Shinjuku offers some of the best shopping in Tokyo, as well as nightlife. It's a little light on the sightseeing, but the Prince is so conveniently located to probably the biggest subway stop in Tokyo, getting around town is a breeze. The service is very pleasant and professional, and I enjoyed their breakfast buffet. The rooms are definitely on the small side--even for Tokyo, which can be a shock to American travelers. But it's a good mid-range choice for probably the most happening part of Tokyo.

SMALL Rooms - Uncomfortable Climate Control
By ,
The location of this hotel is outstanding, right near the train station, but everything else is very marginal and will not satisfy most travelers.

The rooms are perhaps 125 square feet MAX and the bathroom looked like something out of the yellow submarine. The windows do not open to allow fresh air. This is especially important for one reason: The hotel does not have the ability to do both a/c or heating at the same time. We were told that the hotel manager chooses each day whether to make heating or a/c available to the guests. The day we were there happened to be an unseasonably hot day in February (2003), and they had chosen the "heating" option. Talk about a rice cooker! The front desk graciously supplied a fan on request and tried desperately to apologize, but somehow it didn't matter when you wake up sweating miso soup.

The rooms had absolutely not been rennovated in the recent past.

I would not stay in this hotel again even if it was free.
