Puri Santrian, Denpasar

Okay I am more a fan of smaller hotels but here is my experience at Puri Santrian. A lovely upmarket hotel, fantastic rooms, clean and absolutely gorgeous. Bathrooms are 5* all the way. We didnt eat here at all, Donalds resturant (right on the beach) is located right next to this hotel and has amazing value and extremely tasty breakfasts. we ate there every day. Now the part I hated about this hotel. If you wanted a pool chair you had to get up before the sun and leave a towel. By 7 am nearly all were reserved and most anoyingly NEVER USED till 4 pm. This irritated me no end. The pool area was crowded till around 6 pm (when it was quite pleasant) and you are basicly surrounded by sunburnt tourists who dont even venture out of the hotels. The other guests were all generally quite unfriendly and beacuse of this the staff are not use to chatting with them. I like to befriend the staff and have a joke with them but this hotel was too impersonal. Anyway its a stunning hotel but impersonal and lacking the true Bali vibe.
