Golden Tulip El Mechtel, Tunis

Location: The hotel is situated near Tunis Zoo. It's not a modern area of the city and 1.5 Km away from Av. Habib Bourguiba (where better hotels can be found). It's not far from an entry to the medina, but it's not the best part of the medina (far from it). Food: Food choice is average, as well as quality. Maybe the barbecue outside is better served (never tried it). Rooms: During Summer months or anytime there are parties on the floor you won't be able to sleep in any of the bedrooms with view to the floor/pool due to very bad sound isolation. Standard rooms are small, sheets may not be in the best condition and the smell was something like you find in most hospitals (I stayed there for 2 nights and then, one week later, another night). The bathrooms are not bad, just beware your step when climbing out of the bathtub.
