Hotel Continental zurich - MGallery Collection, Zurich

This hotel was very disappointing. No extra amenities, and the front desk was not friendly. Make sure you do not use the hotel phone for calling card calls-- the hotel charges outrageous surcharges on all calls.

We flew from Florida to meet friends in Austria. We wanted to adjust to the time change and rest before joining our friends. The Sofitel was perfect. The staff was wonderful. The room was immaculate with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The breakfast was fabulous!! After visiting our friends we returned to Zurich. We had an early morning flight so we decided to overnite in Zurich again. We spent another night at the Sofitel. We had a wonderful dinner in the hotel. Truly fine dining in a very cozy setting. I would highly recommend the Sofitel.

The hotel location is very close to the train station and city center. However the furniture and rooms looked very poor. Also the design of rooms was very depressing since my view was to the inside of the hotel. The hotel is very quite and there is not a lot of activities going on and you don’t feel that there is life in the hotel. I have made my reservation early and asked for none smoking room and that was not delivered. I have spent one night in this hotel and moved to Marriot for a comparable price but much better room view.

I stayed two nights at the Zurich Sofitel in October, 2005 and found the hotel to be excellent swiss quality with wonderful beds. It was like sleeping on a cloud. The hotel is very convienent to the main train station and just down the street from the Marriott. The food was excellent and served with professional waiters, white table cloths, and good china. The hotel is a wee bit pricey for U.S. standards $310/night but i was in Zurich not chicago or Atlanta. Also the staff was extremely helpful on directions and restaurant reccomendations and spoke pretty good english as well as swiss german.
