A Lovely Spanish Vacation

The Riu Nautilus in Torremolinos, Spain, is a lovely place, and our room had a balcony and view of the ocean. The people working there are very friendly and ready to help you and understanding when you don't know the language very well. The food was amazing - the plan we were on was half board which means breakfasts and dinners ... never have I eaten so well. This is not a place to go on a diet. The only problem I had at all was this: sound rings through the building. All the walls, ceilings, floors are either stucco or marble tile. A woman prancing down the hall in high heel clickety shoes can wake up the entire joint. Add to this a couple arguing, a couple laughing and drinking, Germans and French having loud discussions, a woman enjoying herself on the bidet (the water fixtures are also extremely loud) and you have got a managerie of loud sounds to keep you awake. The place needs to buy some of those hand woven carpets they sell in Tangier so that there is some acoustic dampening. The only rugs evident were two small mats on each side of the bed. Otherwise, as before, the place is well run, well maintained and overall a great place for a nice vacation. The shore and beach are lovely.
