Been 4 times now have two more booked!!
When I go to the keys I always go to Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge. The staff is ultra-accommodating and the lifestyle is laid back. This is the perfect combo for you next keys vacation. We have stayed in the trailer, the motel and on a camp site. This place truly has it all. Boat slips, great local fishing and only 7 miles from Looe key by boat. Don't miss out on this marine sanctuary. No fishing or spearing here but the sights are amazing. You can snorkel or scuba don't forget an underwater camera your going to want some snap shots. :) Every year for fantasy fest the lodge charters a bus for its campers and patrons i think its 30$ to bring you down and back to key west ( only 33 miles ) safely with a designated driver. This I recommend. In short BPKFL is a great spot to stay for a weekend or a month. I can see myself living here one day.

we can't wait to stay at there hotel
By jamesm, 07/14/09
I have always wannted to stop by this place since 05 and we did in 06 for Spring break and sine have been comeing back evry year and we always got a good spot all the time in the rustic camping wit and with out electric but have re served the electric now for the last two years and well one year check into the two room efficincy or the one and still tent camp and the fishing there is excellent for dolphins and tuna black and yellow fin all year round if you don't mind going further off shore just off of the 7 mike bridge and as for there bath rooms there always clean which is good and you can even rent a boat there as well maybe next year I will bring down one boat and maybe a pop up or a travel trailer or 5th wheel and rent out the hotel thats about it for now . One thing though this year we went down in July hopefuly we well be there in Spring break again hope to have a 22 - 24 cuddy cabin to fish from . My neice loves the crab races there evry year and she always catches 3 fishes to our one just fishing a half day that it for now and next year we well try and post our catch of the day

Love it. Love it...Can't wait to get back there!
By Stevegrrs, 06/10/09
We love Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge. The people are friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool if fun and there is plenty of space to lay out and nap. You can fish from the bank or rent a boat. The scenery is beautiful. Absolutely love watching the tiny Key deer walking through the camp. At MM33 it is an easy drive to the lower Keys. There are plenty of restaurants within 2-5 miles if I don't feel like cooking. There are motel rooms and trailers for rent if I don't want to camp. The price isn't cheap, but nothing in the Keys is. Will return as often as I can...would love to live there.

A Family Tradition for almost 20 years
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/20/08
Thanks to our mother, Mrs. Crumpit as they call her at the lodge, have taken my brother Scott and I to Big Pine Key Fishing Lodge for every Mini Season that I can remember. Now, with wives and children, we take our mother to the lodge every year. This is truly a family oriented environment to meet your friends every year and fish and lobster. Scott taught me how to catch lobsters along time ago. All 10 of us can't wait to get back to the lodge every year. We have not missed a mini season in almost twenty years. No recession will keep us away. The hospitality is like none other. The amenities are perfect for recreational fishing, diving, and lobstering. We truly enjoy the lodge and will never miss a trip to see our friends again. I highly recommend this family owned fishing lodge.

BIG PINE FISHING LODGE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/28/08
Although great service, still has that slight CONCH REPUBLIC MENTALITY with a slight attitude or metal state of mind. However it's truly a great place to stay and far better than any of the local Campgrounds or State Parks that have Campgrounds with folks that work there that I consider to be "State Park Commanders" who think they own the KEYS!! If it weren't for the beauty there they would be BROKE and total Poverty!!!!

We loved this place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/27/07
When we first got there we had chosen the resort based on the location. This is a family owned operation since the 70's and is unchanged since then. It is like going back in time. The Motel is on the ocen and all the sea creatures are easy to see in the water. The service is outstanding and everyone had a really good attitude. The Margarita's were strong and served Oceanside for about 4$. As long as you are not real Persnickety and you like Key West the "Old Way" you will love this place. The photos we took were spectacular right from the room. One may rent Boats or Kayaks from right next door. There are small refridgerators in the rooms but no cooking utilities. The rooms were very clean and original 60's design. This is a traditional return location for older folks. We loved it and will return.
