This is my nightmare experience...
I was a newly ordained minister, and was on a temporary assignment in the Fairfield area. I had been staying at another facility that I liked, but they wouldn't allow me to have my cat in the suite, so I moved to this facility up the street. Besides being a minister, I also am a part-time web designer, so I needed a place that also had internet service or wifi. I planned to move to a permanent place in that area in a few months, when the weather got better.
The suite was fairly clean and a little bigger than what I was moving from, but was much more expensive. Plus, they charged me $5 a day for the wifi service, and when it expired for the day it would break into anything you were doing and demand payment for the next 24 hours, and I couldn't pick up where I left off...I had to go back to the web server, etc, and log back in again and find my place again. That was extremely inconvenient and annoying. And in order to get connected to the wifi, I had to contact their tech support who told me that I had to take down my firewall to use the service, which left me wide open to have my privacy invaded by anyone on the network...including the network administrator and the facility employees. And that was exactly what happened...my privacy was grossly invaded, and that of counseling and healing recipients that came to me.
Apparently, the manager there had been monitoring my internet activity, and out of ignorance confused me with one of my web clients that does spiritual erotic healing work. I had met her through my church organization, which advocates all types of holistic healing practices including Reiki and erotic touch healing. I myself do a lot of spritual couseling and some Reiki work. I had told the manager when I started staying there that I was a spiritual advisor and web designer (as my ministerial credentials were in process at that time, and expected to arrive any day), and that my recipients/clients would be visiting me there until I moved into a permanent place. I was told that would be OK as long as there were no behavior problems that disturbed the other guests. My web client and I both advertise our services on the internet, and I was also contracted to do her advertising for her.
Well, obviously the manager at ESA misunderstood what was going on, and reported me to the authorities and had me arrested. My laptop, personal documents, and all my client files were confiscated. When the authorites realised that a mistake had been made, they released me a couple of hours later. Eventually, the charges were dropped, and several months later my laptop and other belongings returned to me.
However, when I got back from being released from the arrest. the manager informed me that I had to leave the next day...even though I was paid up for the week. Now mind you, this in the dead of Winter, and there was ice and snow outside. And on top of that, the stress from everything that happened triggered my hypoglycemia so bad that I could barely stand up or see. They did refund my money, but still totally insisted that I leave the next day...and it had took 3 days for me to move my things in there to begin with, so that demand was not even humanly possible ...especially with my blood sugar acting up from the stress. And this was right in the middle of the work week, so I couldn't even get any friends or family to help me because they were working. The woman that manages the place was rude and unsympathetic to my health issue. I assume it was because she was the one that caused me to be arrested in the first place, and didn't want to have to explain to her boss why she had decided to let me finish the week out and move on the weekend...even though I told her the charges against me were bogus and were going to be dismissed. She just said that the owner wanted me out, and threatened to have the local sheriff remove me if I wasn't out by her demanded move-out time the next day.
The whole experience was a horrible nightmare.
