Carroll Valley Resort, Fairfield

Booked a standard room for my husband and 2 children on a last minute basis. Upon arrival, was very pleased with the hotel's exterior. Once inside, the rooms were very clean and the staff very courteous. I had a second floor room and plenty of baggage. My only complaint was that there was not an elevator or ramp for luggage on wheels. The adjacent lodge was very cozy and the food very affordable and plentiful. The kids enjoyed the ping pong table in the billiards room while my husband and I sunk into sofas conveniently positioned in front of the fireplace. Upstairs from the lodge was a very romantic dining area and lounge also with a fireplace. Room service was offered to guest if they chose not to eat in the dining area. A hop skip and jump to Ski Liberty resort. We walked over to the slopes and watched the skiiers and could watch golfers from our balcony. A shuttle bus was a courtesy to take us to the other side of the mountain for some family tubing in the snow. We would certainly stay again. It was a great getaway weekend especially considering it was a spur of the moment decision.
