West Gate Motel, Ely

I've stayed here many times. The people are friendly and accomodating. The locaion is within walking distance of downtown restaurants and bars. Parking can be a bit tight. They also allow dogs which is helpful for me.

We've stayed at the Westgate many times. It's walking distance to the shops, restaurants and bars in Ely. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are clean. Great value!

Sue & Matt could not have been more helpful. They helped us find the best fishing sites. This is not a "modern" motel, but was clean and met our needs. We stayed there twice in 2006 and plan on being there again for fish opener May 2007. They treated us like family and that is just something you do not get at the big chains. We stayed in the motel across the street from their big house. Very reasonably priced and the best location just a couple of blocks from downtown.

Sue and Matt took the time to make me feel welcome and at home. They gave me great directions to the various entry points in the boundry waters in te area. Also they provided the best fishing holes in the near by lakes!! The motel is only 2 blocks from the local shops and resurants which makes it the closest one in Ely.
