Peaceful Retreat
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/11/06
We have spent up to a week at the Holualoa Inn half a dozen different times through the years, usually in February to get away from the winter cold back on the mainland, and rate it as our most favorite excape. Away from the frenetic pace of the resorts, great service, great facilities, great breakfasts, spectacular views, friendly guests and a sense of privacy. A great launching pad to explore the big island. Organized primarily for couples. Not suitable for children.

We stay here every time we go to Hawaii
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/15/05
We have stayed here 5 times in the past 10 years & have always found it to be VERY quiet (with the exception of the birds & nearby cows) & relaxing.Although it IT a few miles up the hill on a winding road,we much prefer it to the traffic & noise in town. We have thoroughly enjoyed each visit there.

Bring your earplugs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/19/05
Yes, the views of Kailua-Kona are stunning. Yes, the service is great. On the other hand, because of the wood floors and close quarters, it tends to be rather loud. I slept with earplugs every night. The location also leaves something be desired. It is about 20 minutes to anything on a windy road.
