Get what you pay for.

I read the other reviews and had to laugh a bit, "Sweets" should be suites, just a thought that the folks writing the reviews should learn to spell. The Tar Heel was ok, price was very good, but the room was far from spotless, quite alot of traffic runs very close, and it seemed like there were construction crews taking up most of the rooms. The people working the front desk were very helpful with a couple questions we had and pleasant to deal with, but overall don't think I would stay again.

Nice Sweets!

I had one of the new sweets they were excellent! For the same price as a single room at the "other" hotels I was able to get a Sweet! a Sweet! at the Tar Heel Motel.

Great Renovations

I just wanted to say whoever trashed this place must have been blind. The rooms were very decent especially in the back where they have just been renovated. Also I spoke with the manager the yellow caution tape is because they are building sweets in the back left rooms. Also the original owner is still there. Your info is false. Five Stars

Could be MUCH better!!!!!!!!!

This motel is reasonably priced in comparison with other motels in the Clinton area. However, the rooms are not as clean as they should be. There seems to be a problem with flies there. Bathrooms could be kept cleaner. Dust and cobwebs were easily found. The front doors to the rooms have not seen much cleaning obviously since Sherman's Army came thru there in 1865. Sections of this motel were roped off with yellow caution tape- never a reassuring sight. The staff person, however, was very nice. With decent upkeep this could be one of the nicer motor lodges in Clinton- otherwise I would say its best years are as gone as last night's dream and that is a shame.
