The Tilghman Island Inn, Tilghman

This charming 19 room inn has it all! The waterfront location is the best for sunsets or sunrises, the guestroom we had was the most comfortable, best designed room we have ever stayed in! From the very comfortable king size bed to the luxury of lying in bed and watching your own private fireplace, to the Ultra Spa tub in the amazing bathroom. The view from our private balcony was of the Chesapeak Bay and the wetlands across the channel was home to an amazing array of birds. We even saw a bald headed eagle! Upon arrival we were greeted by Sue a "transplant" to the island (about two years ago). Her charm, knowledge of the island and wonderful personality were a very warm welcome. The owners David and Jack are the most welcoming of hosts. David is the executive chef and has certainly taught his staff very well. Don't make the mistake of going out to dinner if you're staying at this Inn. in the restaurant is where you want to be! We could only spend the one night on this our first visit but we hadn't even left the Inn before we were talking about how soon we could come back for a longer visit.
