GO ELSEWHERE!!! THIS PLACE IS A RIPOFF!!!
By DEWEY, 12/31/09
TERRIBLE PLACE!! SMELLS LIKE AN ASHTRAY ON ALL LEVELS, HAVE SMOKING AREAS ON UPPER FLOORS, BUT SLOBS DO NOT STAY IN THEM. HOTEL CHAIN IS WHAT USED TO BE THE MICROTEL/ NOTELL MOTELS. ROOMS ARE VERY SMALL, NO MENTION OF SIZE IN PRICELINE ID. ROOMS DO NOT EVEN HAVE ALARM CLOCKS, NO INTERNET ACCESS. PET OWNERS BE ADVISED! IF YOU RENT THIS DUMP THROUGH PRICELINE YOU SHOW UP FOR CHECKIN, YOU WILL PAY $22.00 PER NIGHT EXTRA PER ANIMAL. NON REFUNDABLE THRU PRICELINE. THIS IS REGARDLESS OF ANIMAL SIZE. THERE IS NO MENTION OF THIS ON THE WEBSITE ANYWHERE, AND THE BEYATCH AT FRONT DESK WILL ARGUE WITH YOU THAT IT IS IN THE FINE PRINT. BS!PLACE IS DISGUSTING., THERE ARE A LOT BETTER PLACES IN THE SMOKIES TO TAKE YOUR FAMILY FOR AROUND THE SAME MONEY. MANY OF THEM CLOSER TO GATLINBURG AND THE MAIN ATTRACTIONS. LOOK ON YAHOO TRAVEL, MOST REVIEWS ARE ACCURATE.

never stay again
By billy, 06/19/09
the manager at this complex was very rude.my family and i were forced to stay on a floor that was filled with smoke including the room.when i asked for a refund or change floors she (River)told me i would not get a refund and we will stay in that room until we checked out.i explained to her that we smoked but only outside because of our kids.she did not care at all.we were insured when i made reservations that we would be on the first floor in a non smoking room.that was a lie.check in is at 3:00 pm after she took our money she informed us that it would be 4:30 and became very rude.that will be the very last time we or anyone we know will ever stay at a america's best value inn

We WILL be back!!!!!!! Great place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/16/08
We found ABVI to be quiet, peaceful, clean and centrally located. Sharon the manager was most helpful and COURTEOUS! We were in Pigeon Forge for a show on Monday Night and staying in Gatlinburg. On Tuesday we were going to attend an all day attraction in Pigeon Forge and thought we would stay in town. We checked three motels before deciding on AMERICA BEST VALUE. Sharon closed the deal. Her courteous and helpful service was above and beyond what we had encountered anywhere on our week long trip. She gave us the registration card to have completed the next day when we arrived. She allowed us to check in at 8:30 am in the morning and gave us an upgrade because we had to wait maybe 10 minutes for the room. Oh YES....... she saved us $8.00 by suggesting we walk to Patriot Park and ride the tram to Dollywood instead of paying the $10.00 parking fee! This was not only $savings it was convenient . Service, convienience and ATTITUDE of Sharon...... ABOVE and Beyond. AMERICAS BEST VALUE INN........ Is the Best Value INN We WILL be Back! Mr and Mrs Stephen Hogue Huntsville Alabama

Worst night of my life
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/22/08
I should have listened to the little guy who was leaving when we were walking in saying don't do it... run... The place was disgustingly dirty, no hot water, no fitted sheets on the bed only top sheet or you could lay on the dirty matteress and i will not even get into the other parts. The "more then manager" was very rude and didn't care. Also we had an extra charge and i was told first it was for the 2nd night (i would not have stayed a second night) then told i was told it was a holding charge on the card after that hit the account instead of clearing off I called and once again the "more then manager" came up with another excuse and then hung up on me. I don't think they know what is going on there. But you can be sure no one i know will ever have to worry about dealing with those VERY RUDE People.

Hidden gem in pigeon forge
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/23/08
found this hotel from one of those travel guides we picked up at a rest area stop. attendant at rest stop called ahead and they were very friendly and took coupon reservation (even though it says walk in only). located next door to Golden Corral which is fantastic, and we walked to Old Mill - a must when visiting Pigeon Forge. Overall, I can honestly say this is one of the best moderatly priced hotels we have encountered. pricing great for budget, location excellant with all the places to eat within a few steps, and trolly stop in front. Very nice staff and management. Rooms clean and confortable. this looks like an old Microtel, but it was much nicer than we expected. only drawback would be there is no stop light by very busy Golden Corral.

Price was great
By Boredinnc3, 07/09/07
We stayed July 4,5,6. It was within walking distance of Patriot Park, which was great for viewing fireworks. The staff was very nice and the room was clean. The breakfast only consisted of bagels, 2 kinds of cereal and danish. The bathroom was itsy bitsy, you could barely turn around in it, but for the price and location it was great.

friendly, clean, perfect!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/17/06
We found this hotel by chance while dining at the Golden Corral directly in fornt of hotel. Rooms were inexpensive, but we were provided with more than expected for what we paid. The staff was friendly, rooms clean, breakfast good. Even free long distance back to arkansas. The manager (brother and sister we were told) was absolutely the nicest lady we have ever encountered in over 40 years of travel. So, Hats off to Sharon and Shawn and the entire staff. We will be back and tell others.

VERY RUDE & DIRTY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/09/06
Would not recommend to anyone. The place was dirty and the managers were very rude and did not care if you were there or not. Many people checked out early while we were there or never even checked in!!!! We had a party with 13 rooms for 9 nights and stayed only until we could find another motel. A little better attitude would have went a long way, but they did not care.

Accomodating staff, good location.
By By The Lake, 05/23/05
This hotel is located pretty much at the head of the Pigeon Forge strip, close to many great restaurants. The location is great, and a breeze to get to the Smokey Mountain NP from there. The front desk was very accomodating, allowing us to check in early and extend a day by shuffling around some reservations. The continental breakfast was re-stocked as soon as something went empty. The room was average. The bathroom was exceedingly tiny, and there was some mold in the corners. The drain in the shower was slow, but the water pressure from the shower head was tremendous. It really was teriffic to finally feel clean after a long week of vacationing. The view from our third floor room was great, overlooking the mountains. I would stay again.

A just made reservations for another stay
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/06/05
I've stayed at this hotel several times. I'd have to say I got my money's worth. I found the criticism on one of the other reviews regarding a "Price Dispute" to be unfounded. Most hotels have a different price when the room is reserved via the web vis reserving via phone. I too have seen a good price for a room on one day, only to go back a few days later to find that rate was no longer available. Bottom Line...The rooms are clean, although a bit small. The only really negative thing about the hotel is the ease of egress onto Parkway, but unless you get a hotel at a traffic light that's going to be a problem!!!
