Comfort Inn Cedar Point Maingate, Sandusky

I have photos of the following complaints if you have an email I can send this to. Dirty room-Bugs smashed on the wall not cleaned up-Messy beds when we arrived-Grossly stained towels-Stained furniture-Mildew on shower curtain-Torn furniture-House cleaning smoking while cleaning rooms-filth in the entrance to room. My wife and I arrived late and we couldn't find another room. We were stuck here. It ruined a long needed get away.

Melissa at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant as she resolved our problems due to our immediate check out and she had a number of guests to deal with at the same time. The room reserved for us was very dirty upon arrival and had dirty pillow cases too. The light fixture in the bathroom was not working properly and fell down too! The room had a bad smell and was very damp. My family and I did not stay and would never suggest this hotel to anyone.

I would have to say that this was ok because this motel had two of the very important things for us when staying close by to Cedar Point: Somewhere to SLEEP and SHOWER. The pool was nice, the staff were helpful, and the breakfast was good (although they didn't have any fruit) but was much better equipped than the other hotels I've stayed around Cedar Point. But the rooms were a little dated and I did notice some bugs squished on the wall and my relative's room next door (we had adjoining) looked a little tacky and they didn't even have a telephone in the room which I thought was weird. But going back to the beginning of my review this hotel had a place to SLEEP and SHOWER. I did not see any bed bugs in the covers, the mattress was ok, and the shower pressure was great. So the stay wasn't that bad, but I would find another hotel around the area just to stay somewhere different or go back to the Econo Lodge across the street which I thought was cleaner and neater than this Comfort Inn (although their breakfast was bare and that's the reason why I chose the Comfort Inn because of the breakfast. They had a waffle maker). And location can't be beat it's very close by to Cedar Point!

My family and I hated this hotel. It was dirty, with nats everywhere. The bathroom was full of cob webs with bugs stuck to them. The carpet was filthy. The towels are rough and need to be discarded. It was definitely NOT worth the money. I will never go back!!

Dirty tubs, walls, holes in ceiling, bugs everywhere. Oh yea, bugs every where! The attendant was nice and professional.

I hated that I had to pay $135 for a place to sleep before heading to cedar point the next day, but it wasn't a bad place to crash. I got a single room for my boyfriend and I with a king size bed. No queen available so had to upgrade i guess. Best part: NO bugs. I am deathly afraid of spiders and thankfully there were none and no remnants of any webs around. We remembered we've stayed here before and it was 'buggy' so they must've got the memo. will be back if prices & availability get better!

i loved this place so much because the service was anything but excillent! and their breakfast was possitively great. If you are planning a trip here you must and will probobly choose this hotel! you whont regret it.

We usually have good experiences at Comfort Inns, but we were not pleased with this one. The people were nice, but the room was not clean. They had a letter that bugs were ok and don't kill them. The towels were rough and the bed spreads thin. I know it's inexpensive, but it was not a deal!

This Comfort Inn was a very poor example of what I have come to expect from the Comfort Inn chain. This hotel is very rundown. We had to wipe the spider webs down from the ceilings. Carpets and bathroom floors were filthy. We needed a light bulb and they brought us one that was warm. Obviously they had taken it from another room. They were out of tissues, and the tissue holders were quite rusted. Breakfast was good and the service was okay. We did receive discounts to Cedar Point which was helpful. They also are very generous with their ice, however I will not stay at this particular Comfort Inn again, and if it were my first experience at a Comfort Inn, I would very likely choose another chain.

This was the dirtiest place I have ever seen.They had bugs smashed all over the walls it looked like a war zone. The bathrooms were very dirty. I requested on check-in the rooms be cleaned again only to come back and find them not done and someone tried to unclog the sink and left the mess in it. Also we had non-smoking rooms and someone smoked in them while they were working.I ended up having to clean the rooms just so we could sleep there two nights.The only comment I got from guest relations was I was to picky and the rooms were cleaned. Funny thing is she or the manager never came to look at the rooms. Though I took picture and wish I could attach them here. They also have very poor shuttle service to the park. In addition they do not honor the 100% guarantee were it says If we cannot correct the situation in a timely manner and to your satisfaction you will not be charged for you room. What a joke they offfered me a 20% discount and I had to go highter up and only ended up with a certificate at another Choice Hotel for one night stay. This place is not worth it the outside was dirty and the breakfast room floor was dirty and sticky you made a noise when you walked on it. I totally reccomend you stay away from here.
