Regency Bar Harbor, Bar Harbor

Last summer, the Fairfield Inn saved our vacation for us. We had chosen to stay next door at the Holiday Inn (for a lot more money); when that turned sour (see separate review of that hotel), we were able to stay at the Fairfield, checking in nearly midnight. The rooms were clean and neat. The front desk help was wonderful, understanding and accommodating. The continental breakfast was just right before trying to catch the Cat ferry to Nova Scotia at 7 am. The Cat terminal is two doors down and very convenient. There is no pool, but they have an arrangement with the Holiday Inn so guests can walk over to that pool. As much as we hated the service at the Holiday Inn, the grounds are beautiful. Save yourself money and stay at the Fairfield Inn. It's minimal frills but it's solid. It was just what we needed.
