First and last time to stay!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/11/09
first morning there had items stolen out of room.A gps and a ring of my wifes while we were down stairs eating breakfast 10-15 minutes.Should have left them in the truck,at least we would had the only keys. With rates on the room right at $80.00 a night, you would think they have better people working there.

great location, friendly staff...only complaint--table to short--can't read a paper on it and need 2 chairs in a room...but they were renovating while we were there and i'm confident those small thigs will be corrected at the completion of the renovation...visit, again, GREAT!..clean, felt safe there.

If simple is what you are looking for!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/09
The room is ok, it needs updated. The first room we got was basic, we paid extra to get the hot tub and fireplace. It was on the fourth floor, not enough room in the room. The fireplace never did work, after calling to the front dest twice. If you don't plan on staying in the room much it's ok. Not something we were used to. We have stayed at The Resort at goveners crossing and it is wonderful. Probably won't stay at the Mountain Trace Inn again.

We will be back again :D
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/07/09
The room was clean, had a microwave, and fridge. Room was cleaned daily. The pillows were nice and fluffy. The hotel also had awesome discount tickets to attractions. The staff was VERY friendly. The breakfast was really nice, my kids loved the sausage gravy and waffles. The pools stayed open late which was nice for my kids to burn off extra energy and I loved the hot tub/spa to relax in before going to bed. There was no noise at night from any of the rooms around us. This hotel is in a REALLY good location too. We will be stayin there again when we go back. The price of the hotel was excellant also. I was worried about stayin there after reading some reviews on here. Of course its not the Hilton but there was nothing wrong with this hotel!!! Be sure to ask them at the front desk what kind of discount coupons they can offer as it really helped my family out whle staying there.

NEVER GO THERE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/29/09
This place is a dump. My husband and I arrived late, reservations were made by Bass Pro Shop who wanted us to go on a time share tour. The room stunk literally! We slept in our clothes and shoes and left as soon as the sun came up! We'd been better off to have slept in a tent under a tree.

don't bother
By Chris, 03/26/09
If you find yourself stuck in pigeon crap TN, then there are a ton of better hotels than this. Why not stay in the mountains away from the traffic and clutter of this town? There were two adults and two kids, and this room was small. Bed had one sheet and one bedspread, no blankets. The bathroom was very small. The beds were extremely hard, and the "breakfast" was worthless. Unless all you want is OJ and corn flakes. The "hot tub" was barely big enough for two people. The people were nice, and I did get additional towels without any problem. It was relatively clean; I've stayed in dirtier hotels (but none with harder mattresses) I gave low marks for location, because basically you are in the middle of all of the "attractions", and close to the busy main drag, but I guess if you want to walk to go karts and mini golf, then you may like the location. I would not recommend.

how's this for service?
By theresa, 02/06/09
we've stayed at Mountain Trace on two separate vacations now; not only did the hotel staff go out of their way during both stays;but when we found our refrigerator on the blink (replacement was in there and running before we returned from our next outing); but also, checked out and got almost an hour down the road when we realized I left my watch in the room, our cleaning lady was waiting by the door when she saw us pull up to get my watch back to me; how about that? honesty and good service - how could you ask for more when you're vacationing?

ICE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/16/08
When we arrived, had to go for glasses and ice bucket, went to get ice, surprise, had to pay a quarter, could not believe it. Dirty, left the bedspread on the tub the next morning, when we came back, bed kind of made, spread still on tub, maid must have been too busy to bother, we were told it was one of the nicer places, would hate to have seen the rest. Would not recommend this to anyone, as we drove to Gatlinburg, we saw many, many motels, hotels and b&b's. Would never return to the area, too crowded, not at all relaxing, nothing like we had looked forward to.

Would recommend Inn to all my family and friend!
Mountain Trace Inn is very clean and great location, within walking distance to most theme parks, outlet malls and restaurants. Indoor pool stay open late, so you can let the little ones burn off energy before bed time. We had a family get together in August07, their was 20 family members staying at the Mountain Trace Inn and all of us were please with the Inn accommodations and amenities for the price we paid.
