The Gualala Country Inn is situated on the Mendocino coastline, just across the Gualala River from the world renowned Sea Ranch. It overlooks the Pacific Ocean, the Gualala River and the beach. Accommodations have either a Pacific Ocean and or Gualala River views. Ocean View rooms and the cozy parlor have views of crashing waves and a long sandy beach and is an excellent vantage point to watch the fall and spring migration of the California Gray Whales. The Gualala Country Inn offers a warm country atmosphere with modern amenities and conveniences. The Inn staff looks forward to making your stay a very pleasant and comfortable experience. Just a short walk from the Inn, excellent meals, cocktails and unique hand-crafted gifts can be enjoyed at the local restaurants, boutiques and shops. You can enjoy golf at a PGA level links course or visit the local health spa.

Classey, Comfortable, Clean, Cool and Charming

As soon as we arrived we knew we chose the right spot. Even though we arrived late evening, we were greeted like family with a glass of champagne and a hug! Our balcony overlooked the lush, serene gardens. Everything about this place was perfect. The heated pool, the outdoor bar, the wine bar and delicious breakfast was superb. The staff was friendly, helpful but did not infringe on out privacy. We also enjoyed being entertained by "old harriet the poolside cat". We can't wait to return to the garden paradise!!

Excellent

My husband and I stayed a few days. It was a very romantic getaway. We stayed in eyebrow cottage. The Gardens is like a lush oasis away from the crowd. We were greeted with a glass of wine and friendly welcome. We enjoyed getting wine from the gallery and relaxing by the heated pool after our bike ride. The room was very clean and we had fresh towels at hand. The breakfast buffet is a delightful way to start the day and very delish. The entire staff is friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I hate that I forgot to write a review earlier, considering I will never forget my stay. We will definitely be back one day.

Going downhill...

We have been to the Gardens several times and always loved this oasis; the gardens and ambiance were always the best. However, during our visit in Dec 2009, Kate (the manager) booked private parties in the garden, with music, that totally interrupted the calm, private space of her guests. We will probably not go back. So sorry. it was one of our favorite spots on Earth.

Best on Key West

I went 2 years ago and have been back. You will not be disappointed. Though it is high priced, it is a class operation, top to bottom. Everything is meticulously cleaned and the free breakfast is top notch. If your looking in this price range, you will definetly be staying at one of the nicest places you have ever stayed.

Loved everything about it!

We stayed at the Gardens Hotel for a few days at New Years Eve 2006. It was wonderful. The service was excellent, the location is perfect, and the grounds were lush and well kept. There is nothing negative I can say about the Gardens Hotel!! We will be back!

Paradise Found

Everything about The Gardens is "first class". Located in the center of town, it is the ideal location to explore Key West. From check-in to check-out, you are treated like family, not just another tourist. The rooms are large and well decorated. The pool and bar are very relaxing and convenient. Billy, the bartender, is a great host and will dispense endless advice on local activities. He even has his own fishing charter boat. The Gardens deserves its reputation as one of the best. The Most Comfortable Acommodations

The Gardens employees were very friendly and helpful. Upon arrival you are offered champagne. We chose a garden room; the room was very inviting and very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and the grounds are spectacular. Thank you to the Gardens Hotel. We will definitely return.

Best place I ever stayed

The Gardens Hotel was unique vacation experience. The attention to detail was incredible.The staff was friendly and attentive,making each guest feel special. I would highly recommend this hotel. I will certainly go back. There was nothing to dislike about the Gardens!

a hidden gem

Stunning hideaway in the heart of "old" Key West. Grounds were lovely and the staff exceptionally accomodating. Room rates were comparable to "chain" hotels in the area, but the secluded luxury of this gem was priceless!
