Fairfield Inn by Marriott Chicago Gurnee, Gurnee

We had a room reserved at this hotel for our wedding night. I confirmed the room several times and received an email confirmation from the hotel two days before our wedding. I made sure they knew that we would be there late, around midnight, after the reception. When we arrived they front desk clerks could only tell us that our reservation was canceled. They could not say by whom, when, or why. I emailed the hotel manager when I returned from our honeymoon. He stated that the room was canceled because not enough of our hotel block had been booked. He also said that he had tried to call me about this but was unable to reach me. The fact is that I confirmed the room two days before the wedding. There was no message from him left on my home, work, or cell phone, nor was there even a caller ID record of him calling. A week later I got a "Customer Experience" email asking about my stay with the hotel. I told them exactly what happened. We never even got an apology.

Hotel was very clean, beds and pillow very comfortable. Also a nice continental breakfast. Pool nice a bit strong on the chlorine but otherwise great!!

Stayed at this hotel for business. I wouldn't exactly say this is a real Marriott property. It's your typical small, low budget hotel in Gurnee.

I enjoyed everything, from the closeness of the mall... to the highway... and I really enjoyed how comfortable the Beds were, the pool was way clean.. maybe a little too much bleached but loved it anyways!!!! The staff did not go unnoticed either!! Very helpful evening staff, even cooked us an extra batch of cookies at midnight during our evening meeting in the entry way!!!! Thanks!!! Can anyone out there tell me the name and manufacturer of there beds!!!!

Fairfield was a very nice place to stay. I would recommend this to you. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. The Hotel is in a very good location. It's next to the mall and there is plenty of places to eat around the hotel. Six Flags is two miles down the road. I would give it a two thumbs up.
